moody, unstable Libra - ok
revolution-like Morales -cringe
creepy Rahn - ok
cold, cynical Siegfried - bland

I don't get it. About his in-game role - he is an artillery unit, he has to be slow but powerful. Also he's from EA, which is slow subfaction. He isn't a "durty, dirty teamkiller" - you are a dumb, dumb commander who makes it happen. Seriously, AoE is 3x3, so it won't damage your units if you don't fight THAT close to the enemy. And you know why you hadn't problem with others? Because others don't have area-of-effect weapons (except poor Eureka).

Glory glory Euro Alliance!

Wow, didn't expect this level of hate but ok, ill bite. I never stated Rahn but ill let him stay and yes, it did like Libra because they fit their faction. I have always seen the Yuri faction since they were first revealed in RA2:YR to be the misfit monster movie faction. They played fairly odd and had many, many oddball units that work awfully on their own but when combined make an odd synergy. It makes sense that Rahn is a creep since he is a genetically modified monster that believes in the superiority of the modified gene and Libra who is essentially the little girl from fire starter but with a mean streak. They are absolute misfits in the only faction that would accept misfits like themselves.

My rag on Morals is entirely due to the voice actor. Every. single. line. is screamed, exaggerated and doesn't flow well. It sounds like he is trying hard to to laugh after every single one or that they were all kinda strung together from separate conversations after the fact. I guess you can say "shame on you" if you want for expecting every line to not be shouted but hey, it gets annoying after a while.

Yeah, you got me, i guess the voice lines ar't awful for Sigfried. the delivery is ok but it's missing something that puts me off, call it personal taste. i still have a problem with the in game unit though. I like every other hero unit because i can have them mixed in with the main force without fear of self damage. That is part of the point. It doesn't matter if i have any other hero in a group moving toward their base, i don't need to worry about my units who happen to stumble to close getting the shaft. I can have a pick and mix with a hero and stuff roll through without fear of demolishing my own armored force.Yeah, it's not a problem when you are spamming Thors with other air units. The real problem comes with a mixed force of tanks and troops, especially a problem infantry units like seals who need to get in close or IFVs and if you are balling those trrops up it's hard to micro every single one.

I mean if you can make it work, that is good for you, i don't like him because he doesn't work with how i play and as a result do not like him. I happen to like to use my units in a ball and every other hero i use works well like that. Siegfried is the outlier in this. Not to mention he comes off as the most specialized of the heroes/hero combos. Oh, and his "make all units near by ability" is a death sentence to anyone trapped outside since you just cut your firepower down by a 3rd and all an experienced commander needs to do is wait for it to wear off in order to attack you after wiping anything not in the bubble

I find him useless and don't like him, that's that.

I wonder what you'd think of Eureka then.

To each their own; some people like other heroes better than others. That being said, Siegfried is nowhere close to useless. He's a pretty decent hero when compared to the list of heroes in MO. I'm not exactly sure how you're getting friendly fire from him; his attack's got a minimum range, meaning that if he's in the middle of your force, the risk of him causing friendly fire is relatively low. Additionally, his attack has a long range (13, almost the equivalent of the Euro Alliance Prism Tank artillery), meaning that he should be firing shots at the enemy before they approach your force. Most players I've seen keep their units blobbed together; it sounds like enemy units are getting into your blob (or really close to it), which is the only explanation I can think of where Siegfried is causing friendly fire issues. Otherwise, he doesn't really have much friendly fire issues; I've seen both newbies and pro players using him and doing well, and I've watched plenty of MP videos where Siegfried doesn't have a lot of friendly fire issues (if any), so YMMV, I guess.

Also, his secondary ability can be pretty strong if you know when to use it. Requires some good timing, but I can think of some uses for it. From what I remember, your units in the chrono bubble Siegfried's deploy makes can still shoot, but they can't move. In return, they're completely invulnerable to everything; bullets, tank fire, EMP, etc. Wiping everything outside the bubble? Seriously? A commander can simply pull his still mobile units back for repairs, which gives you some breathing room for your army to rest and repair for a moment; your enemy can't push forward unless they want to deal with invulnerable units that can still shoot back. Also, I can think of moments where you charge into an enemy base with an army and a ton of prism tanks. Enemy charges in, Siegfried pops his deploy on the army and prism tanks, enemy has to pull back, and chances are, with those prism tanks under the safety of the chrono bubble, will utterly demolish the base in a matter of moments. Those are a few uses I could think of for the bubble.

And like Handepsilon mentioned, if you're having trouble with Siegfried causing friendly fire, you're going to hate Eureka even more then, simply because her attacks don't hurt your opponent's army a lot, and her own attacks are almost guaranteed to hit your army unless Eureka is way up in the front lines. She ends up doing more harm than good, simply because she doesn't have the range to attack from afar, her attacks hurt your army more than the opponent's, and she doesn't have the durability to be up on the front lines soaking damage, making her effectively useless in every conceivable way. She's IMO the only useless hero in MO, which is all the more jarring because of how powerful all of the other heroes are.

(Eureka's the one hero that I gave a lot of changes to; I'm not releasing the ini files that I have for my modifications, because I respect the devs and don't want to spoil anything, but if you guys want to know what I did exactly to buff Eureka, PM me and I'll give you details on what I did).

They are completely frozen, so no moving or shooting.

Btw, if you're having trouble with clumping units to Siegfried, you might want to try ordering your units to ctrl+alt+click him

Oh okay, I'll make a note of that in the future. Hmm, well, I can think of some uses at least. The fact that units can't shoot while bubbled makes it more situational than I thought, but still. Invulnerability while unable to move or shoot. A lot of the Euro Alliance's unit aren't terribly fast from what I've seen; one use for the chrono bubble would be something like this:

1. Siegfried and a big clump of your units are fighting against the enemy, you're finding the enemy brought in more forces than you expected, or they brought something you didn't come prepared for. You find yourself losing a bunch of units.

2. Siegfried uses his bubble to keep your remaining forces out of harm's way for a period of time, giving you a moment to send more forces to that area, as well as probably sending some air support (Additional Thors are never bad, and Harriers' armor-debuffing weapon is a great way to weaken heavy T3 tanks).

3. Fight resumes, but this time, you've got reinforcements on your side, and your enemy has been weakened from your airstrikes. Enemy either has to retreat or risk losing their forces.

Something like that. There might be more uses that I can try to think of using Siegfried's deploy ability. But that's one. It's pretty situational, admittedly, but the chrono bubble has its uses.

So there's a lot of opinion against Siegfired here. But both he and Uragan are siege-type heroes. Why is Uragan so much more popular?

Besides the epic voice lines, that is.

Is it just because Uragan flies?

Uragan can attack both ground and air, have 1000 HPs so he never dies unless your opponent have a whole army concentrate on him.

A flying armored artillery that is good vs everything? Must get at all cost.

Siegfried is good though, until you have a mass of Prism tanks and Thors. He can get rid of those damn bunkers so your tanks can get in and attack the enemy base in a rush.

Only times I lost Siegfried were when a blob of terror drones appear behind, or Chitzkoi going nuts and my Thor isn't out yet.

Oh, Uragan can target air? Forgive me for being an ignoramus :p but I wasn't aware of that. That would tip things in his favor.

So, what is Siegfried good at that Uragan can't do? (besides the special ability)

Siegfried actually outranges defense structures? Iirc, Uragan still needs to get into range.

Also, his vortex slows stuff down. Uragan projectiles aren't really effective against infantries and tanks. Sieg at least are capable of decimating any infantries foolish enough to get into his range.

That one time in Rainmaker I forgot the whole artillery unit being capable to fire on cliff. Almost all my adepts were vaporized by Siegfried with a single shot.

Oh and Uragan needs to announce his presence with the constant hums. Dunno about Siegfried tho

At last these are heroes, not people. They are one demineional not just in voxels, but also in characters. We don't know their motivation, their background or their favorite food. All we can do is to admire their ability on the battlefield. This is what I'm trying to change, to breath some life to these figures. To make Rahn not a just a 'creep'. To make Libra more than just waifu bait. To give Morales a reason for yelling all the times besides from being jacked up on coffee.

I still can't understand how to use Eureka on the battlefield properly. I also find it rather amusing that her own attacks damage her.
