This is very bizarre,

i can play other people online after finally getting it all working but when i play or try to play my brother online we cant connect.

he can play other games too no problem, we are not on same network or even the same country.

can anyone help me please as we used to play all the time up until a year ago.

Do either of you have problems connecting with other people?   You should both run the connection test in How to Report Issues and post your results.

ill try the connection test but we can both connect to other players thats what is bizarre

It's helpful to see the whole thing, Ditto with your friend's test results. You can PM those to me, if you like. You should be able to copy the text from the DOS window and paste it into a post or PM.
