So as my title suggests, I am having trouble getting the game to run at the default render settings upon updating to the Windows 10 Creators Update. After I updated, I started the game, which led me to a black screen but the audio continues to run just fine. I checked the settings and found out that I am still running the default renderer. When I turn on Windowed Mode and Borderless Windowed Mode, I can play the game normally but I like not having to deal with the windowed mode and borderless window mode turned on.

 

Has anyone else been experiencing this problem and if so, how can this situation be fixed?

Also want to point out that the vanilla games are unplayable due to the black screen/audio running issue. Now I really regret updating to the Creator's Update.

Did you try reapplying your "Old" settings prior to Creators Update?

What old settings are you referring to? O.o

I did that and the game crashed to desktop. I'm at school & using my Chromebook so I'll have to wait until I get home in the evening to show the error message.

I've personally had better luck with IE-DDRAW.  With TS-DDRAW, I get the invisible submenu bug and the menu UI goes really slow.  With IE-DDRAW, the only issue I experience is that I can't Alt-Tab out of the game.

If i'm not mistaken some people have mentioned Creators Update seems to have reset the settings of alot of their programs to default. Did you change the Settings at all to make them work prior to upgrading to Creators Update. If yes make sure you have the same settings set up since CU might have removed your modified settings.

I have no idea what you're talking about. Can you be more specific please?

he was talking about your settings in the client. Did you change anything from default before the update?

As far as I know, the only settings I changed was the resolution to my default screen resolution. That was it.
