I'm sure that you guys know the best way to play MP in Commandos: BEL or BTCOD. So please, can you tell me how to do it?
Is there any issues or limitation during this process? Hope for some detailed explaination. Thanks!

Hamachi is probably the best way, download and install hamachi, then you and your friend join the same network. The host needs to run MPSERVER.exe in the game directory, and then you can join the hamachi i.p of the host.
It's limitations (compared to comm2 mp) are the resolution is locked to 640x480 only (unless use a cheat command), the in game chat takes up half the screen (i think it's ctrl+z or shift+z in BEL), and can't reload a save after you quit the game so have to complete each mission in 1 sitting. Also i've found that you need to make sure both players have either the newer lower framerate version, or the original faster version of game, if you mix them it will make sync issues.

Well, completing mission in 1 sitting is not a problem at all 
About sync - I guess, Steam version will suit better.
