is there a way to disable the foehn revolt faction from skirmish completely?

hello, the reason why im asking this is because i absolutely hate this faction, everything about it, every single one of their units feels OP (or at least do their role MUCH better than anything in the other 3 factions), i played trought all 3 of its sub-factions and i feel freaking ashamed of having do so because it literally feels like cheating

 

i play skirmish almost exclusively in this mod and i have noticed that not only the AI starts with infinite resources but also is able to see the whole map at all times, this mean that the high cost of all Foehn units is a non issue, wich i guess is what balances them? because so far im having a hard time calling them even remotely fair....

 

its not fun when you are swarmed by freaking mastodons..... that for some reason have a million HP but also repair themselfves and all nearby vehicles and also have ridiculous dmg and its weapon has splash damage so it can erase armor batallions like nothing, and all you have to defend yourself is a few crappy units because the game is just starting, not that it matters anyways because your units will get erased anyways

 

is not only the mastodon, every other Foehn Units feels exactly like this, cheap, too strong, or just outright ridiculous that you tought putting them in this state and calling it acceptable is ok, you know the boidmachine? that artilery that can fire a shell at any part of the map every 6 minutes? doesn't sound so bad right? but when the AI is Omnipotent, quite literally, and can see everything at all times, it ALWAYS uses the artillery strike right on top of your army, and guess what? its gone, just like that, so you can't mass units coz they'll get erased, can't counter that thing easily either because its right in the center of their base and for some reason, it can survive a freaking Tactical Nuke, because its obvious too weak like all the other poor foehn units

 

the most inbalanced of their factions so far is definetly Last bastion, all the most bullshit units are theirs and also the plasmerizer because its obviusly not enough they have the strongest units in the game but they also need this building that has a million HP (quite literally) and eats everything for breakfast

 

and its not even that all their top units/building are the best, even something as pathetic as the sweeper kills everything in seconds just because, all its infantry is just outright better than anything else, knightframes and lancers are walking tanks that slice tought things like they are made of butter, and these are the very FIRST units this faction gets, WHY? not only that but Giantsbanes are almost unstoppable when massed (oh and their upgraded version is even more fun with that stun they have), Irriadators makes so you can't even control your units, this is worst that Mind control because at least you could take the MC away by killing whoever is controlling you, with this effect you have to wait until it wears of to start controlling your units again, after all the damage is done, so who cares if they are made of paper (probably the only unit in the entire faction that dies easily) its annoying to face

 

their heroes so far haven't been as annoying except Uragan, not even Eureka with her Bullshit shockwave attack is as annoying as this guy, not only does it do ridiculous damage but its attacks also have AoE (against air too because you totally have control over your units bounching up like dummys) so all its attacks just wreck everything minus infantry, he can also fly but oh he's slow..... BUT IT DOESN'T MATTER because he's a Mini Kirov aswell,except against infantry attacks, so i'll give you that a few flak troppers can kill him easily but then again, infantry is also easily killed, and since all the rest of the Foehn units are Obsene they can pretty easily defend this dude and then he's pretty much a flying mastodon, only worst because you can't kill him safely even with invaders because screw you look at all the absurd amount of damage i put out, and im only 1 freaking unit

 

lets also not forget the Harbinger or should i say Kirov on steroids because its obviusly not enough that it does more damage than a super weapon it also must be tought as nails and as fast as it gets, oh yeah it also recharges faster than a super weapon, who cares if it can be shoot down? its not like you are gonna accomplish such feat before the damage is done....very fun when coupled with the great tempest, literally bring down any base to the point they can't do anything anymore, Foehn are so good they literally get 2 super weapons

 

the great tempest also does more damage than all the other super weapons in the game, because its obviously NOT ENOUGH they have the best units and the best buildings no, they must surpass, the soviets, the allies and yuri in every way possible, also renember how all the rest of the factions can shield themselves against superweapons and support powers??? oh wait, THEY CAN'T, only the Foehn can OF COURSE, so you always have to assault their bases head on, clash with their OP units, and lose because your units are not as good as theirs

 

literally every time i random them as an enemy in my matches i inmediatly know its gonna be a chore to keep playing the match, i don't want to specifically choose the factions my enemys are because I SHOULDN'T have to, why is it that this Faction just makes skirmishes NOT FUN to play, everytime its the same thing "oh here we go again these dudes are killing everything i guess this is gonna last longer that i had anticipated" and the match just drags and drags on and on because this faction just takes everything in the Face and then asks for more, you know what i do when i face 2 last bastions? I just quit and make another match because it would be less painfull to hit myself with a brick on my forehead repeteadly than try to continue the match, absolutely awesome desing

 

was the whole point of making this faction prove that you can easily make any new faction be even more unbalanced that Yuri in the original YR? because if so you have definetly outdone yourself, i haven't had the disgrace to play against something as unbalanced and OP as this faction and i hope i don't in the future, for my own sanity, they don't feel like they belong in RA2 either, everything about it is just off and doesn't compared to the other 3 factions, "oh here's this race of robots and machines that literally rapes everything, HAVE FUN".....

 

im not sorry for what i wrote or for anything i said even if a lot of time went into developing this faction... time that could instead be used to make the rest of the original factions (the ones actually worth spending time into) better and more diverse..... there's no excuse for the poor balancing we got with this, and your completely oversight of stuff like the AI being omnipotent in skirmish and apparently not having any idea how infuriating it is to play against something that beats you in every regard possible, good desing indeed.....

Sorry If I was too frank about it.

If that was bad for you, then I guess you're not gonna touch the Foehn Challenge maps anytime soon. 1 of them have a base full of Plasmareizers and 9 Boidmachines shooting at your base, and the other have all of their units coated with fast heal nano aura all the time. So much for cheating AI.

And the game wasn't balanced for Skirmish but MP. Otherwise stuffs like Kirovs having speed of 7 wouldn't be here either.

fun fact, Skirmish against foehn is something I actually found easier than anything else...

If it makes you feel a bit more better than I can suggest that using infiltration tactics works well against foehn since they are really weak against "covert ops". Use Soviets (Preferably China) against foehn and infiltrate their lab after you destroy the covering walls with the "Wallbuster" than spam the map with Iron Dragons that movs down Mastodons and heavy infantry alike.

Other advisable "Foehn Antidote" is the Scorpion Cell. Use groups of hijackers to steal mastodons, gharials etc. However this option works less well against haihead since they are mostly robotic. Not mentioning how Salamander is effective against all sorts of foehn targets.

All in all, no matter which faction you use against them, try building a very strong defensive perimeter as soon as the game starts. Otherwise, it is unlikely to expect the removal of Foehn since they have been mostly looked forward by the community to be added into the game for two years.

Edit: While talking about Scorpion cell and epsilon in general. I personally like to use DYBBUK EVOLVERS a lot. I always keep at least Two aerodromes full of them and send them as soon as I detect a group of foehn infantry on the map.

Foehn are also power-intensive. Go for the Windtraps.

Is it even possible? Gharials are one with the protection against most situations...

 

Immune to all battlefield hazards (poison, radiation, freeze, EMP etc.).
