Hi there,

I've searched this forum and online and have yet to find the answer to my question, it looks like there is a wealth of knowledge here and I would appreciate any help you have to offer :)

I modified my BFME 1's command points and resource gathering and it makes the game a lot more fast-paced and fun, but the problem I'm running into is that the AI is going NUTS with siege. Talking 15+ catapult armies constantly coming at me. I would like to find a way to limit their siege, either by preventing those specific units from being built, or making the AI not use them.

I found a guide for how to change how the AI uses units in BFME 2, but didn't find the same file in BFME 1.

Could someone please point me in the right direction?

Thank you!

-JB

You need to open up the Libraries.big and edit the faction scripts (Ex. ai_isengard.map) individually by editing the teams and remove the siege

teams. Take a look at post #6 https://forums.revor...in/#entry649580

I got the Worldbuilder working. After I make my changes to the .map file, how do I get it back into the game? Do I need to repackage it as a .BIG file and then place it as Libraries.BIG in the game folder directory or where do I place it?

First I suggest you make a back up of the libraries.big file. Then you can freely add/remove libraries in the Libraries.big file (note that for multiplayer compatibility is lost once you alter the AI). tl;dr yes you have to repackage it.

Another alternative would be to set up a -mod command, so you get 2 individual launchers for your game - one for the original non-modified game, and the other launcher for your mod.
