Lost connection just after loging on Normal Install of Zero Hour

Could you try now?    The fix we were testing on the Dev Server appears to have worked and was applied to the live server this morning.

Hello,

 

Sorry for this post but I can't connect to online Zero hours on windows 7 (compatibiliy mode)

 

I have a normal install of Generals + Zero Hours, with patches to 1.04 & 1.08

 

installed Gentools and CnConline: ok

Create account ok (tried with new account too) but when going online Gentools is loading the list then i can read this error message:

Lost connection to C&C Generals Zero Hour Online.

 

Could you please help  <:)

I wish I can go play again online this awsome game!

I can connect to generals online flawlessly.

When you say you installed "CnConline", if you mean the C&C:Online launcher, that could be part of the problem. You shouldn't use that at all for Generals and Zero Hour (it just causes problems in those games). Gentool has built in support for C&C:Online so if you have that installed, you can just start your game from its ordinary shortcut.

Hello,

 

Thanks for the information, i have uninstall the ZH game and cnc online launcher.

After new install of the game alone, validate the FW request too, I tried again, it didn't work. :whathuh: the game is working, i can connect to zero hour online (heard the welcome message), then it disconnecting...

 

But, here a missing info: I had to download the first CD in ISO on the web, because one install file is missing on my CD (scratch on it) for the installation.

 

I still use the original CD for the launching of Zero Hour, and the game starts.

Could it be the reason?

 

Because i can go to the online room of generals... the issue is only for zero hour.

You did reinstall GenTool though?

I couldn't see that in today's log. When did you last try?

Yes, gentools too. playing in 1080p

few minutes ago the last try, and i'm trying it now

Thank you for that. I can see those attempts in the log. You appear to be causing the same error at our end as this guy; C&C ZH Losing connection 1 second after trying to log in - Phil?.

I am going to ask my colleagues for help with this.

go live successfull ! i was able to login to the lobby :)

will test later, now have to buy a video card and more ram

In fact I can play but after few seconds i lost all units and I'm defeated :(

 

So there is another issue, maybe?

That should be much easier to fix.

Q. Why do my buildings explode 30 seconds after match start?
A. Your game key was not correctly copied into your Windows Registry. Uninstall the game and run the installer as Administrator and in Windows XP compatibility to the point where you enter your serial key. Enter the key and click Next once. Open Windows Registry (WINKEY+R, regedit) and browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour\ergc. Modify the string value containing your serial key by adding the minus between the number sections. Finish the installation.
