The automatic patch crashes when i click "update kane's wrath" from the main menu, and when i downloaded the 1.02 patch manually and run it, it says 
"internal error - patch not available". 

What is this error message and how do i patch Kane's wrath to 1.02? I have never played C and C online before and the way i patched it worked for tiberium wars, but now Kane's Wrath

 

Im using a window's 10 operating system

 

In the log this is all that's there:

Are you running the patch "as administrator" when you try to patch manually. You need to do that. You should probably disable your anti-virus (if any) while you do that.

Equally, if you run use the automatic updater, you need to set the launcher to run "as administrator". You should probably set Windows XP SP3 compatibility too. You can set both of those from the properties tab of the launcher shortcut.

I have just tried both, but it still gives me the same error!

What anti-virus are you using?    Some anti-virus programs remain active, even though "deactivated" and cause exactly this kind of problem.     

 

Also, in case you didn't (your log does not make much sense if you did), you need to decompress the patch fully before you run it.   You wouldn't be able to run it from a compressed directory.

Im using Windows defender, and by decompress you mean extract it, i did that to my desktop then ran it. My Kane's wrath is on disk too if that changes anything

it says that the patch isnt available, and that it's an internal error, what could it mean by that?

Can you move the patch executable into D:\Program Files (x86)\Kane's Wrath\ and then try to patch?

ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling a few times, is there anything else i can try? Or am i stuck :/

Yes.   Kane's Wrath should patch itself the first time you connect on line.     I suggest that you uninstall Kane's Wrath from Windows Control Panel (to remove any registry entries you have) and then install it again (make sure the game is not hooked on the launcher).  Delete the shortcut on your desk top and launch from the launcher (unhooked)  then post the error log you have immediately afterwards.

I just bought the steam version because it's steam sales anyway, im hoping that would give me different results, as i have already uninstalled and reinstalled the disk and purged the pc of any c and c related stuff

Man what a Mess. We are forced to buy Steam versions of games we already purchased at release !

You have to open a CMD as administrator, and then the patch file with it.

Start menu - run - regedit.exe
Find the following entry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ System
Change the EnableLUA value to zero
Restart and you're done!
