Hi all,

My name is Tristan and I've always enjoyed messing around with map editors in RTS games. I played BFME 1 back when it came out but found the Worldbuilder feature a bit too involved for my 10 year old brain to deal with at the time.

I have since randomly come back to BFME 1 and have once again been giving the Worldbuilder a go with a bit more success this time which is nice.

I do however still have a few problems which I just can't seem to sort out and would very much appreciate some advice:

1. My main problem is automatic upgrades; how do I get units/heroes/buildings to spawn already upgraded/leveled up i.e. with fire arrows/shields etc.? At the bottom of "object properties" there's a box entitled "pre-built upgrades". Could this have something to do with it? Is it even possible to do this?

2. Is there a way to zoom out further/to choose how far you will be able to zoom out when playing the map? (this would also be useful when just playing the game in general).

3. Is there a way to determine how many command points each player will have?

4. And finally, when I'm trying out my maps, something keeps building structures in my base and using my special powers which is very annoying and weird.

I do apologise if these questions are common/have turned up before, I did have a quick check through the forum before posting to see if any similar questions have been asked but I didn't find anything, hope that's okay.

Thanks very much,

Tristan

Firstly, you are going to need to read this if you haven't already, it is from EA and will show you how to set up properly a map for BfME1.

ftp://largedownloads.ea.com/pub/misc/bfme/Multiplayer_Map_Process.pdf

Then take a browse through here for creating an EA quality map. ;)

Now to your questions:

1. probably a script will do this.

2. Edit->Edit Map Settings... and then change Max Height in Camera Behaviours.

3. the tree diagram icon is for scripts, it is sixth from the right. Scripting will help you set command points for a player and much more.

4. Lol, that is weird. I think it may have something to do with not setting up players and positions correctly. The first guide above will help you with setting those up properly.
