I want to reskin the Aragorn WotR banner, so instead of looking likea ranger, he looks like King Elessar. I've been able to reskin normal objects in the past, but wotr banners are weird, or at least, I can't make it work. Sometimes the vanilla version appears, and sometimes, there's no banner at all.
Here's what I've done so far:
I edited the normal Aragorn banner so it was King Elessar instead. Then I went to my compiledtextures folder, and inside lw, I put the new banner, (i.e., lwbanharagorn.tga) hoping this would override the original texture so I could see the new one. I created the new asset.dat and it didn't work, the original one was still on the map.
I thought then that perhaps it needed a "reminder", so I copied the w3d file of Aragorn's banner in my w3d folder, compiled it and nothing changed.
I was thinking that maybe I had to edit a texture inside the w3d model, but I'm not sure how to do this, or even if there's a way to do it.
I'm very noob at editing models, so I really don't want to create a brand new model for just a simple re-skin.
I have tried creating a new armyicon, but depending on what changes I do, it's always either the vanilla version or no model at all.
Thanks in advanced.
