Game: Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour

Version: First Decade
OS: Windows 10
 

 

So I've been playing online for several months with no issue. I most recently played last night. All of a sudden, today it won't let me log in. When it comes to the username/profile screen and I click login, it brings up a pop up message that says "Could not connect to C&C Generals Online". I can't understand what the problem is. My internet connection is fine. I've restarted the game, rebooted my PC and I really just have no idea what is causing the issue. Any thoughts?

Can you check that your Online IP address (from the options menu) is an address on the network you use to connect to the internet (probably 192.168 or 10. something). Some other games or playing Hamachi can change that so you try to connect via a different device.

Yes the IP in options matches the IPv4 address for my computer. I had some intermittent success by changing my Ethernet connection from the router to the switch, but I'm still having the problem with a fair amount of frequency.. Super confused.
