I don't think as a modding community we should endorse this. There are a lot of things you can learn from other's work and/or might be able to improve on.
The game isn't even our property in the first place, seems out of place to do such thing.

You can't encrypt big files, the game itself would have to be modified as it has no support for the contents being encrypted at all. All you can do is take advantage where community tools do more validation than the game does, such as if finalbig validate that the size of the archive is the same as what the header says it is. You could use a launcher to unencrypt at game launch, but then an alt+tab will defeat that protection.

So ... I don't get this mod. It has some "encrypted" big files, but they don't even get used, as the string that make the game look for all big files in its directory has been edited to "*.wav" from "*.big". Checking with procmon corroborates this, as no big file gets touched by anything when starting the game ...
What's the point of the "encrypted" big files then?
