Could not connect to C&C Generals Zero Hour Online

Hey all, 

 

I followed all the instructions including making an account on the C&C Online net. 

But when I start the game and go to online and fill all the fields it says Could not connect to C&C Generals Zero Hour Online, however I filled the correct information. 

 

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Please could you open Windows PowerShell (type PowerShell at the start menu) and in the window type and enter

Test-NetConnection peerchat.server.cnc-online.net -port 6667

Then post the output in here.

Right. You (either your email address or your IP address) are not showing up in the log from yesterday.

Could you check that the Online IP address in options starts 192.168 or 10. It may be that you're trying to connect through a Hamachi driver or something like that.

My Online IP address gives a 192.168 address so that should be fine right?

 

I am using the Origin version of the game, bought it yesterday and since then trying to get online but..

Is the Gentool information flashing up as you start the game? What I am driving at is, does Gentool appear to be working?

No I have not installed Gentool because it appears that they shut down the site?

 

If you got a working download link let me know.

Does Gentool have to be installed for C&C online to be working?

:D Yes. Gentool is what causes the game to connect to our server (rather than the erstwhile gamespy servers).

The Gentool site is up at the moment (I don't know what happened before); http://www.gentool.net/

Oh wow! I did not see it was back online again. I will try to download it when im home and will let you know.
