Hi!

The past couple of days I've tried to follow all guides, read relevant forum posts and such, but no matter what I do I can't seem to be able to connect to Generals Zero Hour Online.

I do have Hamachi installed as I use this to play with my friends.

The network adapter metric for Hamachi has a default of 9000.

I've tried logging in..

  • with and without hamachi running.
  • after changing both Online and LAN IP ingame to 192.168.x.x
  • after turning off the firewall.
  • after reinstall of the game.
  • with and without the Origin Ultimate Collection launcher fix.
  • with wrong cridentials (using hamachi IP or not) which gives me a "Wrong Cridentials" error or something.
  • after changing my C&C server password on cnc-online.

Specs:

OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit
Game: Generals Zero Hour (Ultimate Collection from Origin)

Version: 1.4

Gentool: 7.4

Mods: No

Genuine Copy(Gentool analyze): Yes

There's no error log file anywhere that I could find.

Any Idea?

Dan, please could you open Windows PowerShell (type PowerShell at the start menu) and in the window type and enter

Test-NetConnection peerchat.server.cnc-online.net -port 6667

Then post the output in here.

That's a good result, which leaves us with a mystery.         Please could you attempt a log in and then post here immediately afterwards so I can try to find that in the server log.

192.168.10.95 is the address that you should have in the Online IP field under Network.       Seems like a slightly odd configuration though.     Are all of the other addresses on your local network 192.168.10.*?

192.168.10.x is my standard local IP's. x.x.x.95 is due to a static IP setup on my computer.

Now I've tried to connect 3 times at 19:28 UTC+01:00 (3 mins ago as of writing this).

There's ya problem  :smile2ap:     There was a duplicate entry in the database with your current email address (which should not have been possible).     You had an old account with that address. which it looks like you used only once in 2014 and that was causing an issue at log in.       I have removed that and I suspect that that may cure the issue.    Can you let me know.

Similarly, I doubt that is not the same issue.   Please could you post in the #support channel (above) or make a new topic in here.   If you do that, please attempt to log in immediately before your post so I can trace the attempt in the log.

..

I think the problem is that you are trying to use your user name as your nick name (online ID).    Try using a different nick name (use anything) so we can confirm that.

Maybe this thread might be talking about my same issue, although for another game: C&C3.

I did all the registration and installation steps as instructed by the guide, did hook C&C3 and Kane's Wrath as I have the Origin version of it.

When I go to the ONLINE menu I type the Server Credentials using the same Online ID as the server login, click Login and get the message "Could not connect to Command & Conquer 3 online."

IRC works on this machine, so I know port 6667 isn't blocked.

Also I can ping peerchat.server.cnc-online.net, which means there should be no connection issue.

Test-NetConnection isn't recognized as a valid command in the powershell. That's probably because I'm using Win7.

As this isn't reported in the common issues, I'm puzzled.

I'm 100% new to C&C:Online, therefore I'm possibly doing something wrong; but without a log file to look into, I'm clueless.

Cheers, and thanks in advance. :)

Small update:

I tried using an Online ID which was different than the server user name. No cigar, but looking into my Revora account configuration I see that the new Online ID has been automatically added. This makes me think that login to the Revora server at least works, yet I still get a "cannot connect" error message from the game.

Also, as I am using the Ultimate Collection thingy from Origin, I have seen the following behaviour.

Installing the alternate launcher as suggested in the pinned topics here in the forum ends up breaking the game. Starting from the start menu I immediately get the launcher to open. When I click on C&C 3 (not kane's wrath) I get C&C:Online to open. Now I click the C&C3 button and Origin opens. I log in to Origin and I get another instance of the launcher to open. From then on the cycle repeats in a loop without the game actually starting; except of course from the Origin login part since Origin is now already open and logged in.

Still running on Win7.

I will try the #support channel on Discord as ToxicShock suggested.

I seem to be encountering the same issue. Do we still get aid on this Topic ?

Following Output can be provided via Powershell:

PS C:\> Test-NetConnection peerchat.server.cnc-online.net -port  6667                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          ComputerName     : peerchat.server.cnc-online.net
RemoteAddress    : 185.17.144.132
RemotePort       : 6667
InterfaceAlias   : Ethernet
SourceAddress    : 192.xxx.xxx.xxx
TcpTestSucceeded : True

Neither i nor my Friend is able to connect. How do we get some help here ?

I was able to resolve this issue. For me it was a local issue. I have got Hamachi installed as well.

In Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour "Options" under Online IP and LAN IP. The IP Adress of Hamachi Services was still listed.

When changing the ip from 25.xxx.xxx.xxx to a Private IP-Adress 192.xxx.xxx.xxx i was able to login to the Online Services.

Make sure to change both of the IP Adresses LAN and Online.
