So I am wondering if it would be possible to implement a checkpoint system in Mental Omega similar to how current games do it.

Some areas where a checkpoint system would be useful:

- After the second part of Panzer Ace (if its possible to do a non-coop version)

- In the first mission of the Allied Act 1 campaign, Red Dawn Rising, after each wave.

These are just two of the examples that I've thought about but hey.......it could happen right? It would sure allow people to play their favorite part of a mission without having to slog through the crazy parts.

No, I don't think RA2 is designed with autosaving capability

And saving itself doesn't work in the current Ares that MO uses

Or wait for Ares 1.0, whenever it's ready.

Version 0.Dp1

I don't exactly know what that "number" means.

Well AlexB removed IFV limitations, pray that he will find a way to give us saving

Will 3.3 be out when ares 1.0 comes out or is it going to be released regardless of ares?

3.3.3 will most likely be out much sooner than Ares 1.0.

Can't say much to that, because I don't know the MO schedule.
But I can explain what 0.Dp1 means: 0.D is the version kinda like 0.(13), and p1 is the first patch for it, because there was a problem that never happened in testing and had to be fixed immediately.
And I can tell you that the current version is 0.E.
