You edit a small file with the staring and the finishing range, and then you run a small exe. :thumbsupcool:

Oh! I want to test that and possibly use it to replace the blank .ucs file in that part of the TUT section!

Two steps: You just 1] edit the run.bat, inputting the desired UCS line range, and then 2] run it  :thumbsupcool:

This is not my creation, someone else made it and I ... forget who!

So it creates a "valid" .ucs file as, normally, you cannot edit an existing .ucs using, say, Notepad, then add your range, then expect the game to take it: its kind of wonky in this regard. 

 

Still.. I'd prefer an automated solution so I'll test it with UM making a dummy UCS entries then load it into UM to see if it gives me any Missing UCS entries.

Honestly, this small tool has served me VERY well!!

It is flawless, and can create the desired file (in the proper encoding from scratch), in no time.

But yeah, it is a simple job creating such a file, so a template and a clever replacing can do the job as well.

Works! :good: I re-created the UM main UCS range ran the game, and it accepted the range.

 

I will add this one to the UCS Tut thread and give credit to the dev for whom built this.

Brother Thud, for the RAGE project, a new range is used. I think the old one is used as well, so do NOT delete it!!!

The new one, starts from 88800000 and ends at 88809999.

Can you add it to the first post?

Mind you, what is this Range designated for? Usually a faction mod merely appends its range from its existing one but this requested range is completely on its own. :huh:

I found it in the Rage project. It was in the NewWorldEatersWarband.ucs file.

Note the "New" part.

 

So I needed to clarify it.

Hrmm.. yeah see that.. the defies convention btw as I don't see the purpose for having such a range way outside of the actual project one UNLESS its a completely seperate mod.

 

Ideally, the 88800000 should start at 61600000 since it matches closer to the RAGE UCS range while giving RAGE enough UCS for its own if the project has to expand: this is what we did in the UM project with the extra UCS file just for Primaris.. that is what should happen here.

 

Just use Corsix Macros to mass-edit the \attrib changing over the lines and start with 6160000 and then find/replace the same in the .ucs.

Still I do not see an issue... If declared, no one will accidentally use it.

I only did the SCaR of the project, so ...

As you know, brother I_Chample is the coder of RAGE.

Well its documented so... no need to discuss this further if it effects nothing so long as we are aware of it. Just looks "odd" considering where it is. I gather it's just extra UCS for RAGE except its wayy outside the main project's own range?
