I have purchased the ultimate edition Command and Conquer set and I am trying to play Zero hour online, I have installed gen tool and created the account and server name on the C&C online site but when I go into Zero hour and try to connect it says I cant connect to C&C generals servers.

Are you using Win 10?   If so, please could you open Windows PowerShell (type PowerShell at the start menu) and in the window type and enter

Test-NetConnection peerchat.server.cnc-online.net -port 6667

Then post the output in here.

If you are not using Win 10, please attempt a log in and then post in here immediately afterwards so  I can try to find the attempt in the server log.

Could you send me a PM with the full output of the test please. I need to see your public IP4 address. At the moment, it does look like your provider is blocking TCP port 6667 and that you will have to use as VPN.

Hmmm. OK, please attempt to log in to ZH again and then post in here immediately afterwards so I can try to pull that information from the log.

Ah, right. Is that an institutional connection? They sometimes block TCP Port 6667 as a potential security risk. You could ask whoever is providing the network to unblock the port or you are going to have to use a VPN to side step the proplem.

You should be able to find a free VPN easily (closer to you is better) but some are better than others so you might have to try a few. Google for one in your local area.

See this post for some options.

I called and talked to my internet provider and they claim that they are not blocking any websites or ports. So I thought it may be my usb wifi adapter. Connected to my phones wifi hotspot and had no problems connecting to the servers. So is it my internet provider and they just aren't getting what I am trying to explain to them or do I potentially have other problems?

Also while I am connected to my hotspot on my phone I can log in and make a game but as soon as me and my two other buddies try to connect to each other it fails to connect for all of us. Just wondering if there is something I am missing there as well.
