Why the royal F there is no instruction releases for these mods on this site I will never know as mods you install in different ways. Not everyone has Desura or whatever the hell it is called. Most *including me* don't even know what it really is.  I've been to their site but they don't allow guest comments anymore and furthermore they don't say they don't until you try to post and it never gets approved. And you see a dozen other comments from five years ago that have yet to be approved.

Back to the mod. How do you install this particular mod?  Is it a weird way or do you just put the.big file in the BFME Main directory?  If it's a weird way like putting it in your APPS/Local/Roaming then changing targets DOES NOT work in Windows 7.  The location just says LOTRBFME.exe and there is no target field tab to click on.  Instead you just see a greyed out location with nothing to click on.

Most instructions for other mods are written for XP which the user interface changed greatly especially the control panel (shudders).  I really miss XP and 98 most user friendly OS's and most customizible without having to do third party hacks.   All built right in.  :)   Like an OS should be.

In XP the user control panel is much more simpler and the target field is right there ready to be altered.

Most instructions for other mods that are still around these days work fine from XP all the way up to Windows 10. Fields being greyed out has nothing to do with Windows 7 - I know, because I'm on it and use this installation method about twice a week for my own mod.

You're in luck: TDH comes with an installer. This is the latest release, use it if you have a widescreen monitor:

This is the regular release for those that don't have widescreen:

I didn't have an installer for this mod.  I just had a bunch of files and no instructions to put them.  I must've gotten a beta version.

Where do I put the files? Is My Battle For Middle Earth correct as that is where it wants it by default but that doesn't quite sound right.  Usually the .big file needs ot be in the main directory and which patch do I need to downgrade to?  Am I fine with the 2.00 fan patch?
