I can connect and chat in the waiting room but when I try to start a new game or join to another one I can't connect.
What can I do?

Window 10

RA3 ver. 1.12

Windows defender as antivirus

I added firewall exceptions

Is the error "Connection Error 1-2 In Progress" or "Connection Error 1-2 Failed" by any chance?

If so, can you please try the following:

Connection Error 1-2 may also be caused by 1 silly setting in Red Alert 3 as I've seen this happen before with GeneReis last month and few days ago again.

In his case the problem was the Firewall Override setting after he tried to forward the ports in his router, thinking that was a necessary step to be able to log into the server.

Can you please check the following to see if this is the case and possible source of the problem:

1. Open Run. (Windows key + R)

2. Copy the following, without the quotes and click on OK. "%HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH%\AppData\Roaming\Red Alert 3\Profiles"

3. Now, open the folder of your commander profile.

4. Look for the file called "Options.ini" and open it with your favorite text editor.

5. Search "FirewallPortOverride", and change the port to 0.

6. Search "SendDelay" and change the setting to 0.

7. Save the changes and try starting a match again to see if this has solved the problem or not. In some cases, there might be a 5 seconds delay due to having a slow internet connection or using WiFi.

Let us know if this solved the issue, if not we may have to dig deeper into the issue if necessary.

yes this is the error.

Spoiler
these were my impostations...so I guess that the problem is not here.
Have I to change something here?

The only option left is disable the firewall temporary, else port forwarding is the last thing you could try.
The ports are as follows:

TCP 3783 (Voice Chat Port)
TCP 4321 (Mangler Servers)
TCP 28900 (Master Server List Request)
TCP 29900 (GP Connection Manager)
TCP 29901 (GP Search Manager)
UDP 6500 (Query Port)
UDP 6515 (Dplay UDP)
UDP 13139 (Custom UDP Pings)
UDP 27900 (Master Server UDP Heartbeat)

If you don’t know how to do so, DMZ is other alternative if your router supports this feature. It’ll forward all ports to the configured ip.

DMZ will basically open all the ports for as example your computer's local IP number without the need of doing port forwarding for each port number seperately.

It's rather a much simpler method of port forwarding, if you as example are not familiar what the differences between TCP and UDP protocols are.

If your router supports this feature, I'd suggest to give DMZ a try.

Your computer's IP can be found in ipconfig as example.

Press Windows Key + X, then select Command Prompt.

In there, type in "ipconfig"(Without quotes!!!).

Look for IPv4 Address, this is your computer's IP Number given by your router for internet access.

The Gateway number however is the IP number of your router.

Here's an example for TP-Link Routers: http://prntscr.com/hzv1zp
