This year's flu season has been the most deadly yet.....hundreds of people now dead from the flu and the numbers look like they could only be starting to get even worse.

What sort of flu and where?  I haven't heard anything particularly nasty this year come up.

Flu is the least of the problems here, where yellow fever is spreading... with several deaths in my neighborhood. But I am not worried about yellow fever either, because I am not immune to that anymore.

@Banshee, yellow fever in Brazil..... well it's more of the ebola virus there.

@Pasidon, you live in America and you did not read the news? The flu is everywhere because the weather is cold in most areas, except that you're living in a farm.

Actually, yellow fever is very different than ebola. I think it may kill faster than ebola, although ebola is more deadly. However, unlike ebola, there are commercially available vaccine for yellow fever (terrible ones) and none for ebola. Also, it doesn't spread as fast as ebola, because it relies on non-urban mosquitos for transmission. So, most cases happens on forests or rural areas. Both are a way more dangerous than any flu nowadays.

I read a study on the commercializing of diseases some time ago that mentioned Yellow Fever.  The author specified that its infection rate is considerably higher since it is not advertised as well as it should be, so most people who are infected don't even have fair warning on it beforehand.

And yes, I do live in farm country, but I usually hear about particularly nasty flu strands rumming about.  Nothing unusual this time of year around central US.
