Not 100% sure... I think the shared connection might be the problem.
Can you please try again after one of the two uses a VPN server.
Google for a free server, hopefully this will solve it.
If using the same connection, Network is a better alternative, honestly if you don't want to bother with using a VPN server.
If using the Network method, make sure you have the IP Address set in Options if the option is there, then you should be able to see and connect to each other.
Still having issues through Network play? Check your firewall settings.

You should be able to play ZH without either using a VPN. Only RA3 has that problem. Make sure that there is no port forwarding activated on the modem.
