C&C ZH "Can't connect to C&C online"

Best Answer ToxicShock, 21 April 2018 - 09:01 AM

You shouldn't need to port forward anything just to log into the game (as opposed to connecting to other players in a game room).    Those connections all originate from your own computer.      We have a bit of a mystery at the moment.

Can you check the online IP address in "Options" is an address on your local network?    It should be starting "192.168."    If it does not, it might be that you have a Hamachi driver (or something like that) installed and you could try selecting a different address or removing the driver.

Can't connect to C&C Online using gentool and using Original game with a TFD exe for no CD patch. (Windows 10) "Can not connect to Command and Conquer Zero Hour Online"

It had been working until a couple days ago. I can still login with C&C Online for C&C3. Issues may coincide with a windows update though unsure. Rsually run mods Rise of The Reds and Shockwave. If I enter my password wrong it will give me incorrect password as usual which seems to suggest it can reach the server but not connect. I have tried to reinstall Gentool with same issue remaining.

"Update 4/19": Reinstalled Gen, ZH and Gentools and still same "can't connect" problem.

Please could you open Windows PowerShell (type PowerShell at the start menu) and in the window type and enter

Test-NetConnection peerchat.server.cnc-online.net -port 6667

Then post the output in here.

It looks like you can connect to all of the services (given that test and what you say about entering the wrong password).     Have you checked that you still have an exception in your firewall for the game?

This is what I get from the NATNegTest. I see an exception for Windows firewall but currently no ports forwarded on router.

Using server nntest.cnc-online.net:30000
Bound to local port 53638
Bound to local alternate port 53639
Resolving hostname 'nntest.cnc-online.net'...
Resolved server host to be '37.247.49.213'
Sending client INIT from port 53638 to nntest.cnc-online.net:30000
Received server INIT [103979]
Our public address is 50.45.230.214:53638
Sending client INIT2 [103979] from port 53639 to nntest.cnc-online.net:30000
Received server INIT2 [103979]
Our alternate public address is 50.45.230.214:53639
Sending cient START [103979] from port 53639 to nntest.cnc-online.net:30000
Received server START [103979]
Server extra port is 40000
Sending client PING [103979] from port 53638 to nntest.cnc-online.net:40000
Received server PING(2) [103979]
Received server PING(3) [103979]
Received server PING(4) [103979]

  SUCCESS
===========
Received 3 pings from nntest.cnc-online.net:40000.
NAT negotiation works with your router and connection.
==> You do not have to use port forwarding.

Thanks that did it it was on the wrong IP. I was able to pick the correct from the drop down. i think it might be picking up the SWR.net driver. not sure how it got switched over though.
