Cannot play online game or Skirmish - Tiberium Wars

Hello,

 

A friend and I have been playing Tiberium Wars for a long time.  All of a sudden, when we go to play a multiplayer game, it counts down to start the game and then stops at 0 and never gets me into the game.  It sits there locked up for about a minute and then the game closes.   I also noticed I cannot play a skirmish.  If I uninstall CnConline I can play a skirmish but obviously cannot play a multiplayer game.  I have reinstalled Command and Conquer 3, Steam and CnConline but it has not helped.

 

He does not have the same problem, it is only me.  And if anyone is wondering, I have my firewalls off, router is set to DMZ and I have 100 mps download.

That an very odd behavior, something I've never expected from the launcher...

 

Does this issue only occur if you play with your friend together or does this issue also occur in other lobbies?

What maps were you attempting to play?    This first thing I would normally have asked you to provide is your error log (see How to Report Issues) but if this is happening on skirmish too, it might be a problem with the location of the map directory.

 

Having said that, I would be tempted simply to reinstall if I were you.

I took your suggestion and tried a different map, but no luck.  I have reinstalled C&Conline, Steam and Tiberium Wars.   Still have the same problem. Below is the error log from just trying to play a skirmish.  Thanks.

It is difficult to say if it happens with other players.  There is not many on there and I can't seem to get on at the right time.

You are using one of the built-in maps that come with the game?

Yes.  we have played this for years and have not changed a thing.  One day, it wont connect.

If this is happening to you in a skirmish (which does not use an internet connection), I really think you should try a full reinstall.

During re-installation, you may want to reset your Commanders Profile as well. You can find this as follows:

 

Press Windows Key + R, then type in "%appdata%\Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars".

The profiles should be located in there and are safe for removal for a complete reset of the game.

What do you mean a full reinstall?   As I stated, I have uninstalled and reinstalled Tiberium Wars.  Is there something else I should be doing besides what the Staff member suggested.

Uninstalling and removing all commander profiles should be enough for a complete reset. c:

That is to say, an uninstall from Windows Control Panel, "Apps and Features".

I still have the same problem.  Have uninstalled and reinstalled everything.  Any further ideas?

After the reinstall, I can play a Skirmish, but once I hook CNC on C&C:online I can't play a skirmish.  It starts to load but then stops and eventually times out and the screen closes. 

 

Any ideas?

Hm... I’m not sure if even the launcher could possibly produce such issue.
I’ll sent you an experimental launcher which we’re testing in a few minutes, in the hope all problems will be solved.

In worse scenario I’ll try to reproduce the issue.

Hi I am getting the same issue.  I can set up an online game but as soon as I start it it hangs then crashes. Same thing happens if I do a local skirmish. If I 'unhook' the launcher, skirmish starts working again.
