I've killed all the waves of orcs, it would seem, but I cannot get into Sauron's fortress and nothing else seems to be happening.

Hi leetzelong,

I must apologise for the bug, it must have been very frustrating. We have tried to iron as many of these as we could through testing but it appears this one has slipped through. The problem you're having (I think at least from looking at the screenshot) is that some of the enemy units are still 'outside' the map in the black border and haven't entered. Did you get the prompt hearing the horn and showing you the text saying to attack Sauron's final force?

The only solution I can think of is to restart, or move you're men up to the top left of the map and maybe draw them out. If they start taunting at nothing then you can be sure there are enemies outside the map.

Sorry once again! Hopefully this won't occur when you replay.

Ifought all the small bands of orcs, then a group in the top left of the map, then a huge force in the centre near the gates of the fortress, then had to defend my base camp. Is there another main force?

 

Yeah, I did in fact hear them taunting at nothing. Thanks for the response. I'm gonna try again, I'll let you know what happens...

Nope, nothing happens. I'm gonna try restarting the map.

I notice that the palantir ceases to level up after the second ability.

Okay, the gates have opened now. Still wondering about the "rescue scouts" side quest, but I'm wondering if it's inside the fortress.

 

...Okay, finished the map. Still haven't solved the scouts side-mission though.

You let the troops at the first camp die. Those are the scouts.

That's intentional.
