So I'm trying to setup a co-operative skirmish map for Age of the Ring, like I used to do in BFME 1. Unfortunately I keep getting this frustrating issue where infantry units will attack their allies heroes when given an attack order on their actual enemies. Just to specify, they cannot be ordered to directly attack an ally hero, but will do so automatically when in a fight.

I have done the following to try and solve the problem, but to no avail:
 - Made players allies in the PlayerList
 - Made skirmish players select the same team
 - Added another script that sets-up the ally teams again, in case the playerlist doesn't work?

If anybody who still does scripting has any ideas on how to fix this I would be very grateful.

Cheers,
Fudge

I know for sure this is a bug that occurs also in regular games, sometimes allied units will start damaging a hero or builder. What I can think of, is adding a scalar to their weapon, like this

DamageScalar = 0% ANY ALLIES

I haven't actually tested, but it might work and prevent this.

Units are designed with the ability to force attack literally anything, regardless of affiliations, so if something in the game is telling them to attack something... they do it.  Ehh... you could try some tomfoolery with stealth.  I know there's a way to set units to be permanently in stealth, and have certain units ignore stealth. So the hero would be untargetable by everything, except for the units you specify.

Hmmm. I'll give it a go with the weapon scalar thing, but I imagine their weapons are already setup that way. The stealth thing sounds rather complicated for me! Thanks for the help guys.

Just for reference adding the damage scalar doesn't stop them from killing the ally heroes. I guess maybe they don't count as allies at that point?
