Best Answer Guest_protoman1008_* , 24 September 2018 - 09:16 AM

That's possible.

Have you also tried Windscribe as example?

There are a few other VPNs that has been confirmed working with C&C: Online.

Thing is, I'd have to dig through the support forums in order to find the links to the websites. ._.

I believe SecurityKiss was one of the confirmed working VPNs.

Dear Community and Tech Peers,

I cannot tell you how much I would appreciate your suppor in helping me regain connections to players in Kane's Wrath.

I am running Kane's Wrath in the original version (UK) on a Windows 10 64bit machine, latest updates on OS.

Already tried solutions/all combined: Deactivating router/windows firewall, establishing DMZ for the computer, running the launcher in various compatibility options and as system administrator.

This is the result of the NATnegtest.bat:

Using server nntest.cnc-online.net:30000
Bound to local port 52240
Bound to local alternate port 52241
Resolving hostname 'nntest.cnc-online.net'...
Resolved server host to be '37.247.49.213'
Sending client INIT from port 52240 to nntest.cnc-online.net:30000
Received server INIT [581181]
Our public address is 88.130.55.148:10499
Sending client INIT2 [581181] from port 52241 to nntest.cnc-online.net:30000
Received server INIT2 [581181]
Our alternate public address is 88.130.55.148:10500
Sending cient START [581181] from port 52241 to nntest.cnc-online.net:30000
Received server START [581181]
Server extra port is 40000
Sending client PING [581181] from port 52240 to nntest.cnc-online.net:40000
Received server PING(1) [581181]
Received server PING(2) [581181]
Received server PING(3) [581181]

===========
  SUCCESS
===========
Received 3 pings from nntest.cnc-online.net:40000.
NAT negotiation works with your router and connection.

Please help a Wonkarious in need so I can play!

Not sure, I think the IPv6 IP address is the problem.

Can you please try a VPN server such as Windscribe and see if that'll make a difference.

Make sure the in-game Network IP is set to the VPN's, for Windscribe it should be in the 10.x.x.x range.

@protoman1008

Thanks a lot for your reply! I tried a free VPN service (Shellfire) and I am now successfully posting this message from a proxy server in the US (instead of Germany).

Tried to log into C&C, "Could not connect to backend server."

What is weird: My actual (new) IP seems to be "162. [...]", but in game I could only switch to something "10. [...]".

That seems to be the main problem now.

Do you have any suggestions?

Yours,

Wonky

Backend server errors might be caused by the launcher.

Make sure the game is hooked correctly.

Hook first, close the launcher then launch the game by shortcut. Click on the game you wanted to play to the left and you're all set.

It seems that the Launcher/Hook is not the issue here, I can connect to the backend servers via my regular internet con.

I tried reinstalling the Launcher and every hooking option i could find, no success.

I suspect this free VPN service does only support a limited variety of application connections, Steam would not let me login while Spotify, Thunderbird and Firefox worked fine.

You don't happen to have suggestions for other free services?

Thanks so much for your help!
