The process of doing so requires the .ini files within the mixes, and those are locked. The only way for the general public to add missions to be playable, which you probably already know, is to replace existing missions in the game,

Um....

I'm pretty sure it only involved the inis outside of the mixes? Several entries in 'BattleClient' seemed to describe the mission list

I like gnomes

And I seen some custom missions being added right into the launcher, in some of Martinoz' videos.

To do so you'll have to edit BattleClient.ini (located in INI folder). Add your mission to list at the [Battle] section, for example C13=ATEST, so it will be Covert Op #13. Then add the [ATEST] section to the end of file and specify it's parameters (just copy them from one of the entries above and change it to whatever you need).

Spoiler

This should be sufficient to make your mission work, although there will be no loadscreen and mission objectives during the loadtime. For that you'll have to create missionmo.ini file in the game's root folder (cause normally it's hidden inside one of the mix files).

LS800BkgdPal= ; your loadscreen .pal

I've tried this and my mission didn not appear in it, do I need something else than changing BattleClient.ini?

EDIT: Ok I redo my BC.ini file and now its working, have no idea why it didn't before
