BFME2 Units Dying

I have that surely infamous thing where units and buildings die at exactly 3:30 into every game. I followed the instructions to install to a T, even getting the HD mod, even though it doesn't really interest me. I have tried re-installing this game five times now, yet this problem persists. I don't know what to do here.

Now, the troubleshooting guide doesn't state what to do for BFME2, just the expansion. I'll try assuming it's the same as RotWK but with just the base .exe? 


EDIT: Nope, that doesn't work at all. Game won't even start.


EDIT 2: Tried running it through AutoRun, but that just froze it for a few seconds before it closed.

As a side note, I'm not sure whether or not I should make another thread for the fact that the guide just straight up does not have instructions for the auto-defeat fix for BFME2...
