Is there a simple way to get rid of the fire arrow fx on the unit model, perferably leaving the trail when the arrow is actually fired, through coding only? I modded the game a bit to have the bodies basically stay forever, but the sheer amount of fire arrow fx at a certain point slows the game.

It should be fairly simple. All you have to do is look for:
Behavior = SubObjectsUpgrade ModuleTag_FireArrowSwapUpgrade
And then any mention of "ShowSubObjects = FireArowTip" you just comment out by putting a ";" in front of the whole line. Hopefully that works out!
