Hi all,

I have a Tecnicolor TG789vn v3 (10.5.2.S)

Last year I remember having set a static IP for my desktop pc, applying that IP in zh options and using DMZ on my router whilst gaming to allow connection etc for matchmaking without any issues.

I would now like to return... but for some stupid reason this router no longer has DMZ within the options, theres a choice of applying a public ip to my desktop, tried a few matches but all failed to connect..

Tried port forwarding all the ports, as shown on the attachment. But still no luck, even downloaded portforwarding utilities app, when checking if the ports were open, it also said NO. So seems like something else within the router is not allowing the ports to be forwarded as they should be...?

Does anyone have experience with this horrible brand of routers for playing on ZH? Any tips would be really helpful... thank you

Hmm...having the same port for every entry in the "Translate to..." column seems a bit iffy to me.

Might want to cross-check yourself on that with this link: https://portforward....icolor/tg789vn/

Also be sure to set a static IP for your computer when forwarding ports if you haven't already.

Check here too concerning in-game settings and setting a static port if you don't know how: https://www.gamerepl...port-forwarding

Best of luck

Yes, like Medstar said, you need to write "port range" and "translate to" equally. Those routers on the "home network" config page have an option to "use the same IP Address" if you click on the name of your machine.

You can try to check if port is online with pretty much any "port tester" site. You should also run some port listener just to double check -> http://www.rjlsoftwa.../download.shtml . Run the listener on every port you open , and then test it with this one for example for TCP -> https://www.unlockth...m/portscan/tcp/   or this one for UDP -> https://www.ipvoid.com/udp-port-scan/

Hope this help !

Thanks for the replies guys.

So ive set a static IP, used the Portforward app to set this quickly.

Now i've set up the ports again on my router, and for a first something seems to be moving in the right direction.. PF Port Checker app says ALL my ports are open, tried gaming, but no luck.. Do i need to set the 29900 port override in ZH settings??

TCP: 80, 6667, 28910, 29900, 29920 (Using 'https://www.unlockth...m/portscan/tcp/', im getting negative feedback, seems ports are still closed but used the same method as the UDP below for setting up.. not too sure whats going wrong here :(

UDP: 4321,27900 (Using 'https://www.ipvoid.com/udp-port-scan/', im getting feedback that both ports are 'Open | Filtered' - So this looks OK?)

Edit:  Just tried a few matches of ZH with/without the 29900 port override in options.. no luck at all.. Below screenshots of latest router fw port forwarding & zh options ingame

Hi, I don't know for sure in Zero Hour, but I've made the same thing for C&C 3 Tib Wars and it worked. I guess you do not need to override the port in ZH. Maybe someone try to explain a bit more on that and send delay!!

Did you tried with port listener ? The UDP open | filtered looks ok, I've got the same thing.

Ports config on router seems done correctly, as longs as its pointing to the right PC.

Remember that the other person on the other end can have problems with connecting too... It was happening to me , could play with person A, but not B. I opened the ports on friend B and it worked ! Well, its hard to understand whats going on. If it was my problem at least I could connect with him?? Not that straightforward . lol

I'm going to test in ZH too , i guess will try With and without Forward Ports.
