The CAH (custom avatar hero) should have been revamped a long time ago, so here is a list of new attributes and some revamped powers for each class:

New attributes:

 

Damage - Increases the damage dealt by normal attacks.

Armor - Increases the damage resistance.
Health - Increases the life points and rate of regeneration.

Spirit - Reduces the recharge time of spells and abilities.
Perception - Increases the range of sight, (true sight), experience gain and reduced recruit time.

Leaders of the West

Type:
Captain of Gondor
Shield Maiden of Rohan

Powers:
Call Reinforcements, Improved Call Reinforcements, Great Call Reinforcements, Superior Call Reinforcements (summons battalions from good side).
Train Allies, Improved Train Allies, Great Train Allies (grants experience to allied troops, Great Train Allies also heals allied units slowly temporarily).
Spear Throw, Improved Spear Throw, Mighty Spear Throw (ranged attack that does damage in a small radius, Mighty Spear Throw also gets fear effect on enemy units around target).
Shield Crush, Improved Shield Crush (hero can crush enemy units, Improved Shield Crush also gives hero temporarily 50% arrow defense).
Horseman (mount).
Elendil (causes enemy units to flee in terror).
Blade Master (hero temporarily gains +200% damage and +100% armor).
Athelas (heals nearby heroes).
Leadership, Improved Leadership (allies near hero gain damage and armor buff, and earn experience faster, Improved Leadership gives terror and fear immunity and even faster experience gain).
Invulnerability, Improved Invulnerability, Great Invulnerability (hero becomes temporarily immune to damage, Great Invulnerability also heals hero +30% of life).
Cripple Strike, Improved Cripple Strike (deals damage to an enemy hero and roots them for a duration).

Starlight (nearby allied units are slowly healed and get buffed damage and armor, stuns enemy units (level 7).
Heroic Charge (hero and nearby allied cavalry units gain +100% damage and +300% armor for a short time, no force can slow this charge (can only be used while mounted (level 7).

 

 

 

Defender of the Woods

Type:
Male Elven Archer
Female Elven Archer
Ranger

Powers:
Archer Specialization, Improved Archer Specialization, Great Archer Specialization, Superior Archer Specialization (hero gains an increase to their arrow damage, Superior Archer Specialization also gives active power that slam shots enemy units in a small area).
Cripple Shoot, Improved Cripple Shoot, Great Cripple Shot, Superior Cripple Shoot (deals damage to an enemy hero and roots them in place for a duration, Superior Cripple Shoot also gets Terror effect on enemy units around enemy hero target).
Summon Familiar, Improved Summon Familiar, Great Summon Familiar (summons a flock of birds that reveal the shroud and detect stealth, Great Summon Familiar also debuffs enemy unit damage and armor and nullify enemy leadership).
Train Allies, Improved Train Allies, Great Train Allies (grants experience to allied troops, Great Train Allies also heals allied units slowly temporarily).
Toggle Weapon (allows the hero to switch between bow and melee).
Self-Heal, Improved Self Heal (heals themselves and allies).

Elendil (causes enemy units to flee in terror).
Stealth, Improved Stealth (hero can stealth while moving, second stage makes hero invisible while standing still).
Wind Walker (temporarily gain +30% movement speed and immunity to arrows (level 1).
Leadership, Improved Leadership (allies near hero gain damage and armor buff, and earn experience faster, Improved Leadership gives terror and fear immunity and even faster experience gain).

Tornado, Improved Tornado, Great Tornado (release a tornado on the battlefield, Great Tornado also stuns enemies in target area for some seconds (level 3, 7 and 10).
Rain of Arrows, Improved Rain of Arrows, Mighty Rain of Arrows (launches a barrage of arrows covering an area, Mighty Rain of Arrows also makes enemy units in target area cover in fear for some seconds (level 3, 7 and 10).

 

 

 

Guardian of the Mountains

Type:
Iron Braker
Slayer


Powers:
Battle Rage, Improved Battle Rage, Great Battle Rage, Superior Battle Rage (hero gains a boost to damage and armor, Superior Battle Rage also gives hero +30% movement speed).
Sapper, Improved Sapper, Mighty Sapper (melee attack that does damage to buildings and temporarily immobilizes enemy structure/Mighty Sapper also give passive allied building slow heal, +25% armor to allied buildings).
Axe Throw, Improved Axe Throw, Great Axe Throw (ranged attack that does damage to a single target, Great Axe Throw also gets fear effect on enemy units around target).
Oil Spill/Light Fire, Improved Oil Spill/Light Fire, Great Oil Spill/Light Fire (hero can spill oil on the ground for a duration and then light a fire, Great Oil Spill/Light Fire also gives passive fire damage on basic attack (level 1, 3 and 7).
Train Allies, Improved Train Allies, Great Train Allies (grants experience to allied troops, Great Train Allies also heals allied units slowly temporarily).
Leadership, Improved Leadership (allies near hero gain damage and armor buff, and earn experience faster, Improved Leadership gives terror and fear immunity and even faster experience gain).

Invulnerability, Improved Invulnerability, Great Invulnerability (hero becomes temporarily immune to damage, Great Invulnerability also heals hero +30% of life).
Toughness (hero gains a permanent boost to health points).
Earthshaker, Improved Earthshaker, Mighty Earthshaker (hero slams the ground causing an earthquake within a radius, Mighty Earthshaker also knock back heroes).
Bombard, Improved Bombard, Great Bombard (calls in an artillery strike over a radius, Great Bombard also makes enemy units in target area cover in fear for some seconds).
Leap, Improved Leap (hero jumps to a location causing area-affect damage).



Wizards

Type:
Wanderer
Avatar

Hermit


Powers:

Fireball, Improved Fireball, Mighty Fireball (long range attack that damages enemy units, Mighty Fireball leaves a big fire field on the battlefield).

Ball Lightning, Improved Ball Lightning, Mighty Ball Lightning (long range, high damage attack that damages single targets, Mighty Ball Lightning also has a big aoe).

Force Blast, Improved Force Blast, Mighty Force Blast (close range attack that blast back enemies for damage, Mighty Force Blast also knock back heroes(level 1, 3 and 7).

Train Allies, Improved Train Allies, Great Train Allies (grants experience to allied troops, Great Train Allies also heals allied units slowly temporarily).

Leadership, Improved Leadership (allies near hero gain damage and armor buff, and earn experience faster, Improved Leadership gives terror and fear immunity and even faster experience gain).
True Sight (reveals an area of the map).
Blink (hero can teleport to a selected area (level 3).
Teleport, Improved Teleport, Great Teleport (teleport allied units from one location on the battlefield to within the radius of the hero/ teleport allied units from one location on the battlefield to anywhere on the map/ teleport allied units or enemy units from one location on the battlefield to anywhere on the map).
Curse Enemy, Improved Curse Enemy, Great Curse Enemy (adds a short time to targeted enemy hero's ability timers/ adds a medium time to targeted enemy hero's ability timers within a small radius/ resets targeted enemy hero's ability timers to just used within a large radius, Great curse enemy also passively debuffs enemy units damage, armor and nullify enemy leadership (lvl 10).

Lightblast, Improved Lightblast, Great Lightblast (long range, single target damage, Great Lightblast also stuns surrounding enemy units for a while (works like a mini cloud break)
Call the Herd, Improved Call the Herd (turns enemy units within a radius into livestock).
Convert Enemy, Improved Covert Enemy (permanently convert enemy units in a radius).
Word of Power (sends out a shockwave that kills surrounding enemies).



Servants of Sauron

Type:

Orc Raider
Uruk

Powers:
Call Reinforcements, Improved Call Reinforcements, Great Call Reinforcements, Superior Call Reinforcements (summons battalions from evil side).
Berserker Rage, Improved Berserker Rage, Great Berserker Rage, Superior Berserker Rage (hero gains a boost to damage and armor, Superior Berserker Rage also gives hero +30% movement speed).

Fire Bomb, Improved Fire Bomb, Great Fire Bomb, Superior Fire Bomb (hero can throw small bombs for damage, Superior Fire Bomb also gives hero a passive fire aura that damages enemy units a bit).
Poison Attack, Improved Poison Attack, Mighty Poison Attack, Superior Poison Attack (hero passively poisons enemies for damage and a duration and actively throws a poisoned knife at target, Superior Poison Attack also gives the poisoned knife splash damage over time).
Howl of Rage, Improved Howl of Rage, Great Howl of Rage (nearby friendly units gain a boost in damage and armor for a duration, Great Howl of Rage also affects friendly heroes +10% damage & armor).
Train Allies, Improved Train Allies, Great Train Allies (grants experience to allied troops, Great Train Allies also heals allied units slowly temporarily).
Leadership (allies near hero gain damage and armor buff and earn experience faster).
Invulnerability, Improved Invulnerability, Great Invulnerability (hero becomes temporarily immune to damage, Great Invulnerability also heals hero +30% of life).

Assassin, Improved Assassin, Mighty Assassin, Superior Assassin (deals an amount of damage to an enemy hero, Superior Assassin also gets Terror effect on enemy units around enemy hero target).
Train Allies, Improved Train Allies, Great Train Allies (grants experience to allied troops, Great Train Allies also heals allied units slowly temporarily).
Stealth, Improved Stealth, Great Stealth (hero can stealth while standing still, second stage makes hero stealth while moving, third stage makes hero invisible while standing still).
Coerce, Improved Coerce, Great Coerce (hero can convert the allegiance of enemy units in a radius, Great Coerce also gives passive armor and defense debuff to enemy units).
Toggle Weapon, Improved Toggle Weapon (allows the hero to switch between bow and melee, Improved Weapon Toggle gives increased ranged damage).
Attach Spy, Improved Attach Spy (hero can mark a unit and see what they see for a time/ permanently).
Climb Walls (hero has the ability to climb walls).
Frenzy (temporarily gain +200% damage and +30% movement speed).
Leadership (allies near hero gain damage and armor buff and earn experience faster).
Steal Resources, Improved Steal Resources, Great Steal Resources (steal a number of resources from an enemy resource structure, Great Steal Resources also gives passive building pillage, passive earned resources when killing units for hero and nearby allied units).
Disguise (hero can disguise themselves to look like other units (level 3).



Misty Mountains

Type:
Olog-hai
Hill Troll
Snow Troll
Gundabad Berserker

Powers:
Call Reinforcements, Improved Call Reinforcements, Great Call Reinforcements, Superior Call Reinforcements (summons battalions from evil side).
Berserker Rage, Improved Berserker Rage, Great Berserker Rage, Superior Berserker Rage (hero gains a boost to damage and armor, Superior Berserker Rage also gives hero +30% movement speed).
Howl of Rage, Improved Howl of Rage, Great Howl of Rage (nearby friendly units gain a boost in damage and armor for a duration, Great Howl of Rage also affects friendly heroes +10% damage & armor).
Assault, Improved Assault, Great Assault (hero can crush enemy units, Improved Assault also gives hero temporarily 50% arrow defense, Great Assault also gives complete arrow immunity (level 1, 3 and 7).
Leadership (allies near hero gain damage and armor buff and earn experience faster).
Untamed Allegiance (permanently take control over target lair).
Invulnerability, Improved Invulnerability, Great Invulnerability (hero becomes temporarily immune to damage, Great Invulnerability also heals hero +30% of life).
Earthshaker, Improved Earthshaker, Mighty Earthshaker (hero slams the ground causing an earthquake within a radius, Mighty Earthshaker also knock back heroes).

Stone Throw, Improved Stone Throw(ranged attack that does damage in a small radius).
Leap, Improved Leap (hero jumps to a location causing area-affect damage).
Cripple Strike, Improved Cripple Strike (deals damage to an enemy hero and roots them for a duration).

-Get rid of all premade custom heroes!
-Good side hero leadership palantir icon needs to be changed too crown palantir icon.
-CAH cost 0 command point.

Seems Age of the ring team does not focus at CAH at all, so it won't be done with them...maybe with another small team could make a submod in the future...who knows?

They do what they want, and a lot less what we all innocently suggest, but this is completely fine after all because this mod became a true project if we look at its size, and bringing a project like this one to its completion requires both discipline and concentration. Given the amount of both really cool ideas and bullshit we throw on them, I understand that they are less and less motivated to tell people "no, we can't just ALSO do that, please let us finish this". As a modest modder myself, I have a hard time imagining how much AOTR took time on their personal lives during all these years.
