Hello,

First, sorry for the English, I'm Brazilian ...

I am learning how to modify small things in ROTWK, such as Balrog summon time, hero health, command points and small things like that that can be done by FINALBIG.

So far so good, so I wanted to change the song from the main menu ROTWK to that of BFME 2, and everything went wrong.

With that, I uninstalled the game completely and reinstalled, however, the same error message keeps showing up even after I uninstalled it, which I don't know why.

Now I wonder if I should format my computer to fix this or not.

Because I thought that by uninstalling and installing again, everything would return to normal, but no.

Try removing BFME2 also , just to be safe .

Test BFME2 , then re-install ROTWK and test

A clean install should never give errors

Remove all profiles and files in MyBattleforMiddleEarth folders

AppData/Roaming location — I hope you know how to find these folders

Hi,

I did that too, uninstalled BFME2 and deleted all appdata files as well.

I don't know what else to do.
It is as if something has been marked / fixed on the computer and when reinstalling, it gives the same error there in the photo.

I love this game, but I think I won't be able to play unfortunately anymore.

I was excited to modify it, without fear, because if something went wrong, I would do the reinstallation later.
But apparently, it wasn't quite like that.

252/5000

And one other thing,

after reinstallation, when I use FINALBIG to open the Maps.BIG file, it gives an error, saying that it is not possible to read.

I thought that resintalating, the corrupted file, would return to normal.
But neither.
An error occurs even in FinalBIG.

I did the "System Restore" through windows checking 5 days ago.

And yet the error continues as well.

It seems that something has broken on the computer, it is not possible.

Never had that happen , to that extent .

I guess the problem may be more than BFME files

save your personal stuff while you can and clean install windows

I'm having the same exact problem... My computer is brand new, I have the full game installed, was working perfectly before adding this https://www.moddb.co...otwk-hd-edition

I tried everything, but nothing seems to work, while BFME 2 works perfectly

Good news,

I managed to fix the problem!

A person with a good heart here on the forum helped me and I want to do the same by sharing with you!

The tip he gave me was:

Please google "Windows 10 virtual store" and check for leftover files in the game folder.

So I researched and managed to find how to get there.

and the address looks like this:
C: \ Users \ username \ AppData \ Local \ VirtualStore \ Program Files (x86) \ TheLordoftheRingsTheRiseoftheWitch-king

Delete all the folders that are there and reinstall the game.

There, everything goes back to normal as before!

I leave this tip and my happiness in being able to return to Middle Earth once again!

Strong hug my friends!
