Soviets and Allies in campaign ?

Best Answer JustJoking, 04 July 2020 - 07:12 AM

Because the MO story isn't as "idealistic" as the RA2 vanilla story. If you hadn't noticed, everyone betrays each other in this campaign, Yuri the Soviets, China the Russians, Foehn Revolt the Chinese, Pacific Front the Allies, etc, and everyone has a different goal in mind. Allies to survive and eventually take back the power they lost, Soviets aim at global domination and kill Yuri, Yuri wants to *unite* everyone, and the Foehn Revolt to save the world. An alliance is really unlikely and even if it happens, once they kill Yuri, they'll stab each other, and they know it.

It have been going on my mind after completing most of the campaign.

Why don't Soviets and Allies form alliances and defeat Yuri, They have independently destroyed most important parts of Yuri's base.

Allies destroyed Antarctica forward base of Yuri and almost threatened the whole epsilon army by almost killing or capturing Yuri.

Soviets destroyed Yuri's base in Stalingrad and captured Yuri's base in moon. While killing space commando (Maybe using Chitzkoi).

My question is why don't they form an alliance to defeat Yuri ? Like in Yuri's Revenge.

Any answers.. Anyone.

Balances of power I guess. it's a win-win situation for Allies. in a way Yuri cripple Soviets for Allies' benefit.

Just an assumption, If soviets won the mental omega war (I know they won't) they can't earn anything. They lost their premier and latin forces with morale (one of my favorite hero). You said about balancing power but it annoys me how they can reck yuri together and soviets could join allies for better mankind. Yes, They may be a bit overpowered if allies and soviets made an alliances.

Anyway thats mam.

They have different goals in mind. Soviet was just doing it to restore their place as the superpower. Allied forces who actually knew the gist of Yuri's big plan was went to strike Antartica in a 'Do or Die' gambit, mostly because they no longer had anything left to lose.

Besides, the Soviets can't even get along with each others because 'muh superiority', it's very unlikely that they'd consider getting help from the Allied.

Maybe this is how mental omega act 2 conclude..

I think both the Allies and Soviets partially succeed in their objectives. The Mental Omega project does not mind control everyone thanks to the Allies. The Soviets do kill Yuri but lose too many soldiers and resources. What is left of the Americans, Europeans, Russians and Latinos will join Foehn. Epsilon Commander is the main antagonist for Act 3
