Ok I'm really not a pro moder (if that exists), and maybe that sounds ridiculous but

I've had this idea for a long time :

What about having an option in the game that allows you seeing through the eyes of units when you want ?

Well I guess that playing the game like that would be quasi impossible, but, you know, just for the coolness of it

In this dream the camera would follow the movements of the model's head or maybe better, the head would be guided by the player or maybe just invisible so you can watch in all directions

I guess it's really complicated to do, and that it would be really difficult.... maybe just through some units eyes, maybe just sergeants or commanders, or some commanders... one maybe ?  ... ok

half a commander ?
The perfect things would be to do something that could be used with any mod

I really don't know if this is possible and I have no clue about how to do it, but if it sounds cool to you and doable well maybe we can give this a try

I am almost sure THERE IS a way, with the camera functions.

But ... It will be very difficult to turn the game into a First Person Shooter :p

Yeah, there's a SCAR function called Camera_ActivateEntityCam that relates to this. I don't think it's ever been used in the actual game though, except for pre-rendered cutscenes like the Dark Crusade intro.

yeah I see what you mean, I thought about it. In the mission editor there is a camera tool to pre-set a cutscene (I guess, never used it).
I'll take a look a the SCAR, but you know, I have zero knowledge in programming and all

Yeah it seems like there could be a way to do it, maybe we'll find the answers

Haha yeah, my intention is not to turn it in a complete fps, just you know, to see for a few second through the eyes of an imperial guard before his face meets a bolt and then going back to the standard camera

Yeah, that is the function I was referring to.

...I am pretty sure I can do what you ask (it is easy in fact).

But man... NO TIME!!!

At the moment, I am really burnt up - and "behind" schedule :p

That's not the homeworld function? Didn't think that worked in Dow.

Allright man, you have to live your life, but if you find some time to explain me how to do it I'll do it, at least I'll try

Maybe fuggles have some clue about how to do it
