1937 03 Jail Break (ZSJ47 Lin Yu Tain)

 

To be honest, this mission is quite boring as can not raise any alarm. Fortunately it still allows shooting (there are missions with automatic failure for just a gun shoot). It’s slow because the effort is to hide enemy bodies which take times and repetitive.

 

It’s an okay mission, with a bit of invasion. I had to repeat the invasion because the ally soldier is missing. I hide him on the upper left and he was gone just like that. He would also run to the car when it’s near, ignoring the tank, so time the distance accordingly. The music is very repetitive.

XT02 Revenge Action (Lin Yu Tain)

 

This is an insane mission, but I love it!

 

It starts off like a bare land with barely any building, assuming. Then it comes with no alarm or the countdown would start. I don’t know what the countdown was, but when I look at the objective to destroy all armored vehicles and trucks while the is only one in the mission, it means invasion.

The main mission itself is okay, not too difficult but very restrictive. Have to take out patrol without making noise which can be difficult with 5 person patrol. Duke long eyesight is very helpful, although still requires many tries.

 

The last before invasion is quick and quite scary. Make sure to have many saved games.

Once I kill all enemies, the only thing to do is to blow up the tank, and by doing that, alarm noise and many patrols come repeatedly. There is barely time to reload since I was quite near the barrack. It’s good in a way so I can use the countdown time to kill as many as possible as they can be very annoying once the invasion starts.

 

This is probably the invasion with the most super snipers. They are not auto kill, but they have super long eyesight and they are literally everywhere, in some spot they are many together which is quite a pain in the butt to navigate around. Fortunately there are rocks but still, the timing have to be impeccable although there are some windows here and there. The key to take it back and forth, progress bit by bit because I can’t go further on the right side so I have to go to the left side to kill one sniper, then I can’t go further and have to to back to the right side and now it’s possible to kill another sniper. The starting base for the invasion is important too. I notice there is always an enemy looking at building nearby so it’s hard to hide there, although it’s probably good because one can kill many snipers at once there. I assume the key is to observe the invasion position and place the car to block the one looking at the door.

 

For me, I stational low left, there are a few machine gunners I can kill easily by ambush, then kill a nearby sniper and procced carefully. GB barely help because it’s hard to hide and move around, but he is needed for distraction.

 

Overall, crazy but awesome invasion. Not a fan of the starting game, but it gets exciting in the invasion.

X02 Scraped Off Limits (WXB Mengjunlaosi Lin Yu Tain)

 

This is one of the missions that is very hard in the beginning.

 

Das Boot map, night of the wolves theme, with Sapper and Lupin. The catch is, Lupin can punch but can’t tie, Sapper can tie, but only Lupin can use gun. There are patrols, lights, and snipers everywhere. The lights can’t be killed and the commandos start with nothing in the boat.

Lupin has to swim under the watch of sniper and use precise good timing to approach the tower. Since Sapper can’t climb the tower or crawl under the wire fence, I leave him in the boat.

 

The challenge now is to find the way to neutralize the enemy because knocking them only give a very limited time frame. It was super difficult to navigate among enemies and lights and I almost gave up a few times. I didn’t know whether there is a way to neutralize the enemy or to bring Sapper in because I went from building to building and found nothing. Had to repeat the game multiple times because I was caught. I even found the explosives first but for now, I don’t have any use for them.

 

It’s a good thing that Lupin is very fast and is able to hide in a pile of cables. Finally, in the building next to the one with fence he found a box with wire cutter and ladder. It’s hard to get to it as patrol come in and out and he need to punch a lot of enemy and escape on time.

 

The next challenge is to make it back to the starting area so that Sapper can access the ladder. Then one by one, he starts to tie the enemy and dump it in the front part of the tower where no one can see it or be prepared to neutralize anyone who come to investigate. Once this area is cleared, including those who heard sound and come, Lupin can climb the wall to kill the sniper on the tower. He has to make sure the patrol is not in close proximity because he has to use gun.

 

From here, things get easier but it’s still hard to neutralize the patrol with very limited bullet because the common enemies are empty. I can’t take gun out of them. Without killing the patrol it would be impossible to move forward or expand the clear area. Since Lupin is the only one who can use gun, it would be hard to ambush as well and the bullets are not enough.

 

So, I tried tripping the alarm. It gets more patrol out and a group is stationed near the tower. Fortunately, Sapper can punch one without alerting the rest and take the machine gun. He has to hide behind. He can punch another without tying first because tying will alert the leader in front of him. Since they can steal gun from the patrol, Lupin has machine gun now (Sapper can only punch and tie).

 

Now that Lupin has the ability to kill, it’s fun from here. He would bait other patrols and stay behind the wire fence to kill them.

Blowing up the anti aircraft gun requires two bombs each and ten mines for each tanks. The amount is ridiculous but at least the mission provide enough number, not more but these are items that can’t be misused accidentally. The track for the tank on the left is very short, so mines have to be put near each other.

 

Special note: It’s very hard to kill sniper at the upper right. There is almost no way to distract him since Sapper can't make noise with gun. Lupin can’t dive for long. What I did was deploying the mice, and before it reached the sniper I make noise with gun to distract his view to the wall, then I started swimming under his wall. The mice will arrive right in time to continue with the distraction so that Lupin has time to reach. When the sniper’s PoV is back, he can climb up from the blind spot and kill the sniper.

 

Overall:

I think it’s very interesting that the commandos have limited ability yet compliment each other and the mission rewards it with a lot of fun later (after thief acquire gun and machine gun), however, it’s easy for players to give up since it’s very hard, especially when the commando finds nothing in the beginning.

 

It would be a pity if players give up because of that. The mission is very fun later but a lot of patience is required in the beginning.

It is my mission K6 prisoner of war. Maybe the worst mission ever I have done, I was noob creating missions,.Anyway some people enjoy it so I keep it.

The mission dont have any observer or anything unfair. It is a long puzzle, the only challange is dont get lost. I remember you need to find diving gear, dive and get key, after all steal a tank. The commandos can use pistol only.

 

I don’t remember what mission is this (is there a way to check?). I have tried and skipped through various missions before settling to play this one but forgot to take note about the mission's name or creator.

It’s something like Castle Cordiz but the arrangement of the interior is different. They are mixed up and different from the original.

However, I think I would stop playing for now because it doesn’t feel fun and it’s dragging, because:



  1. No noise or Lupin will be shot. This is the same with original Castle Mission, but every enemy is raising alarm, even the interior, so no shooting, which brings me to number 2



  2. I can’t shoot anyway. None of the commandos know how to use rifle or machine gun. They can’t ambush anyway. I’m not a fan of taking away these two abilities, although it works for some mission. I play with Fins so at least he can throw knife but mission feel long and dragging. Especially because they are so many enemies that can’t be killed, but they will make noise.



  3. Bare furniture. Rare resources, all furniture is highlighted but contains almost nothing. Very unmotivated.



  4. Confusing interior.



  5. Stuck here and there. So far, I have managed to rescue Sapper and clear all area that can be cleared, but I’m stuck because of locked door. There is no advantage in rescuing Sapper, no advantage in getting diving suit because when I get into water I can’t surface anywhere because of wire. Sniper stuck, GB stuck. I don’t even know how to get to them.

Thank you! I did get the diving gear but I must have missed the key or I got it but couldn't surface. Unfortunately I have replaced the saved game.

U23 TOMB RAIDER 2 CLIFF PALACE (KOP)

 

This is a fun mission. I think I have played this before but not to the end. I think I misunderstood the last task to put in golden monkey but accessing the back. I keep trying to get in the front and GB keeps dropping it. It was very difficult for me back then but this time it’s more manageable and I played it quite carelessly, but it was pretty fun.

 

The first three snipers hold different box contents. I save and load to find out what they are before deciding which one to go. You’ll get the content of the chosen’s sniper (first one you kill), but if you take too long to get to the box, it will disappear too. I chose the one with two unlimited machine guns. Raising the alarm doesn’t end up in failure, and it’s fun. It’s not easy though, there are plenty of snipers everywhere and the one in general costumes can see very far. There are not many props available but enough for the whole mission.

 

Going up the cliff is also a challenge. Fins has hook but it doesn’t work. GB has to climb, but I manage to take Fins up with elevator. There is very little window of him not being noticed after coming out from the elevator, but once he is successful, the rest is easy as elevator is a very good hiding spot.

It’s interesting that they have to go down manually to obtain the golden monkey, and inside the building there are haunted rooms. Everything is possessed and things act like enemy. Garbage bins, beds, chairs, horse, walrus! It’s very funny. At first I didn’t know what was going on.

 

In all, very fun mission. Difficult, but difficult in the fun way. I love hunting snipers and there are plenty of ways to improvise how to handle the enemies. A lot of freedom of playing which is what I like the most. As usual, since I play alone, my active commando is Fins. He and Lupin are my favorite. The others are back up for ambush or for something that requires their specific skill like trap and climbing the cliff. Nice choices of commandos.

U24 TOMB RAIDER 3 HAUNTED HOUSE (KOP)

 

This is also a fun mission. I think I failed when I played it the first time because I was lost and didn’t know how to finish the game. It has many layers that require you to finish one task before you can do the others. I remember playing it carefully back then but this time I’m blasting it seeing how far I could push it.

 

Every milestone (when commando go to new area) it triggers snipers coming out. These snipers are easy enough to handle. They come to investigate everything and once they are done, they stay on a fix place. Make sure that you don’t get caught during the investigation and you have a good location to handle them. I like to bait them with gun to let them come. For original snipers, who are allocated in strategic positions, they are harder to manage. You have to clear the area that can be useful in distracting them. For example, I had to clear the area outside the wall so that I can distract the sniper on the upper left to kill him. It’s the same thing with the one on the bottom right.

 

Natasha can’t use sniper gun, which is unfortunate because I collected many sniper bullets, but it’s okay. She is useful for entering rooms full with ghosts because there are many enemies inside.

 

Overall, a fun mission. Just like the previous one, I enjoy it a lot because I can go crazy and impulsive. Prepare for a lot of ambushes, snipers, and some dogs.

TY 35 INTERCEPT PASSWORD WARFARE (TIANYA)

 

This is a White Death mission, and I love the first part of the mission when the setting is in white death map. The difficulty is amped up, but the mission is possible and fun without the restriction of not raising alarm as long as players are willing to deal with the patrols. The scenario is the same with White Death. Fins and Sniper contact GB, then Lupin and Spy. The beginning is difficult because of many snipers I had to deploy Duke early to destroy them.

Until now, mission is awesome. And it should end here because this is a great mission.

 

Instead of ending, there is another phase of the mission, which involves Driver and Natasha, in a completely unrelated map, unrelated player and resources. Mission is very difficult as well with barely there resources, no first aid despite how easy it is for Driver to get injured and frustrating interior entry. All the previous commandos and resources collected have nothing to do with this.

 

Should have separate this into two missions. I don’t get the purpose except to play all commandos. Nah. I think it brings down the playability and the enjoyment of this mission. I wouldn’t feel like playing it again because of the tedious second half.

I’m playing this mission and it has been going well enough. I got very far, rescue GB, rescued the allied soldier and avoid the alarm but then I can’t control the allied soldier anymore. I believe this happened in one of the missions I played as well. They get stuck and unresponsive/can’t be selected in different stage of the game. Sometimes they move okay, then they freeze. I repeat, we pass that moment, then it freezes again.

 

Appreciate if someone can help dealing with this, because continue to repeat the action is become tiresome.

 

It’s a pity because I only have one objective left and I like the mission.

L50 Defending Motherland (Lin Yu Tain)

 

This is supposed to be an awesome mission, but the instruction is unclear and the mission can’t end.

 

I’d say that if the mission requires explanation outside the game with very complicated difficulty, then it would be a stretch to expect players to guess what it is without a clue. It can be anything, it can be too random, and most likely, if it requires a replay, especially a very difficult mission, then it’s very easy to give up because it might not be worth it.

 

The mission starts with GB and Duke. Duke is practically immobile, because he is surrounded without a correct weapon to clear the way. He is up the ladder with a room full of Gestapo below. There is no grenade, torch, or sleeping poison. There is no way they can infiltrate the room. There is no window as well.

GB himself is in a difficult situation where he had to face invasion after invasion. Without the ability to ambush, it’s very difficult for him to get the enemies, but he did.

 

Sniper can peek through the window and kill one sniper near the roundabout. GB had to sneak around to kill as many enemies as he could and only help the ally when they are not in danger. They are a great help because they can ambush with far range of sight.

 

The invasion is triggered when I kill the engineer and the sniper with barely any room to make it back to the safe space (especially after killing the snipers because the amount of Gestapo is crazy) but after trial and error, I resist the invasion, blow up the tank, and kill everyone except the one mentioned in the room below the sniper.

 

According to the mission, there should be another invasion because the objective is not clear yet. I still have plenty of mines, but I don’t know how to get them out. According to the mission objective, it probably has something to do with the engineer’s behavior. I probably kill them too fast, but killing them itself is very difficult and surviving everything is almost impossible. With the amount of enemies, the sniper and the tank (it’s very hard to get them as the snipers protect the tank and the speed of the invasion, and the unclear instructions, I’d rather not try to win the mission if I have to repeat all over again without knowing what is going on. I’m very sure it’ll hard to repeat the success as well. Nope.

 

It’s such a pity because I enjoy the mission a lot despite the limitation of GB not being able to ambush.

Mission satisfaction: while playing 9/10, not finishing 0/10

Mission resources: the mines are good, the ability to clear the room 0

This is a fun mission. It’s not too easy yet not impossible and the time limit is achievable. There is a glitch, one of the objectives was not checked even though I had cleared it. However, the mission could end.

 

At the start, it looked like a simple mission and easy enough. Don’t ring the alarm because everything would get haywire. I used only GB to clear the whole area. The good thing was that the killing and shooting itself don’t raise any alarm if I managed to kill the enemy soon enough.

(I don’t like mission that fails/raised alarm just because of a gunshot eventhough the enemies are far away. Any gunshot leads to failure. It limits the creativity with way too many restrictions).

 

The uniform is useful especially on the second half of the game. (the common uniform) while the Spy's proper uniform is very essential.

 

IMPORTANT

 

After killing all enemies, don’t blow up the radar first, because the countdown would start and more enemies would appear. Most of them need to be killed especially the ones below the hill. A new truck convoy will need to be blown up. Only GB can do that because the others can’t go down, there is no other access expect climbing the cable.

 

Prep GB with 4 small bombs (3 needed, one extra), uniform, and weapon. Move the barrel between the two trucks to conserve bomb and wait there.

Prep Spy with 3 small bomb and wait around the area near the radar.

 

Sapper put a time-controlled bomb on the radar itself and hide at the furthest house near the exit area.

 

Make sure all enemies are killed, because if they are only tied, the incoming new enemies would free them. I made this mistake. Save the game with a spare and let the alarm come to study the placement of the trucks. It’s optional because GB can place the bombs later anyway.

 

WINNING THE MISSION

 

GB shoot the barrel, alarm will sound, convoy and more enemies will appears. He has to hide in the furthest building or behind the box with ambush mode because there will be an enemy stationed there.

 

Sapper activates the time bomb to destroy the radar.

 

Spy stand around casually and deploy the small bombs near AA gun (shoot manually) when it’s safe and kill enemies.

GB move around to kill enemies, most new enemies are stationary, but their vision is longer than GB shooting range. The uniform is useful to get close and make a fast duel. Beware of the snipers. After blowing up all convoys he needs to kill all enemies below to ensure safe escape.

 

I use Spy to go around killing enemies around the escape route and blow up tank that gets in the way. Small bomb with good position is sufficient to blow up tank.

 

Overall this is a very fun mission.

I like the:

- multi level missions

- the freedom and creativities allowed

- enough amount of resources

- tank explodes using one bombs (I don’t like it when tanks need ridiculous and non-standard about of bombs to destroy them. It doesn’t add the difficulty, just make it tedious and unpredictable but not in a good way)

- enough time limit with good strategy

- fun hunting time

- maximizing commandos specific skill

Very short and easy enough mission with some challenge to keep it interesting. Very small map with one commandos (GB) who surprisingly can crawl under the barricade.

It’s fun for a quick play.

A fun and challenging mission but IT DOESN’T END.

 

Fins is alone and has to navigate a map full of enemies and moving snipers or hidden snipers. Alarm will send more troops but it’s not a deal breaker. He only gets his knife later on which is a pity because I love this ability.

 

The resources is rare as I don’t remember having a first aid kit while being injured is likely because he has to face everything by himself including patrols. Fortunately he has a good shooting range which allow him to ambush and hide.

 

I love this mission but:

- It has a glitch because it doesn’t end.

- Some resources like first aid? Just some food?

- He doesn’t have his specific skill for a long time (knife) but at least the game setting allows creativities and hunting. Alarm sends more patrols but not a deal breaker which is my preference. Weapons can be collected along the way.

I’m sure I have played this mission before. It’s fun, and this time it is scary, because I somehow provoke 3 group of Gestapo who hunt me wherever I hide (even when they didn’t see the commandos). There is no way to hide or run, they just go straight to murder the commandos.

Thankfully there are enough torch and grenade although it needs a lot of trials to get them at the right time.

Easy and fun. Spy with trap. Not sure why the mission doesn't use Driver instead because Spy skill is not needed.

Fins can punch, but can't tie. GB is the one who tie. Others are practically useless.

Looks hard, but easy.

Bait the Gestapo to the beach, the explosion will take care of them.

Plenty of grenades. Fun and quick mission.

426 TY13 BIG ESCAPE (TIANYA)

 

I think it's interesting that the area starts to burn. With strategic bait, I can kill a lot of enemies by baiting them to the fire. Although I had to repeat the mission because I couldn't get one enemy.

 

However, the mission doesn't end! Not sure why. I have destroyed everything including the boat using grenade.

I have waited at the island or try the escape point, nothing works. The objectives also never ticked although I have done them all.

 

Hate it when the mission doesn't end.

XT04 SPY SEA (Lin Yu Tain)

 

Played this a while ago. It was fun, very fast. Actually not fast, but I exercise all freedom and bulldoze through the mission. It was great. Can't remember many details except it's entertaining.
