Now, the last James Bond's mission, Z51.

 

It takes a long time, the maneuvering is crazy. I had great fun with Natasha clearing Burma map by herself, collecting impressive numbers of snipper bullets and rescuing sniper. Lupin played a great role and very effective in eliminating group patrol. Sapper is no less important with creative mission of disabling alarms but the poor guy is not even given a coat!

 

GB starts and has to survive by himself as he is in another map and has to activate the elevator to reunite with the other three commandos. All is well, Sapper had disabled more than half alarm requested. They had cleared the map, blown up the trucks but obviously the mission is not over because there are still more alarms to disable and more trucks to explode, but WHERE?

 

I can't find the other map, no clue, nothing. The only unexplored place is the one that need wielding machine to open, but where is the wielding machine? The commandos have climb up down through a plethora of interiors and tunnels.

 

I don't know where else to go! What a waste. Please don't be stingy with the clue as it's frustrating enough to go from map to map because the mission is staged. I think it's a great idea that you have to get this tool from one map in order to access the other, and then have to come back to complete the task once you have enough tool/ammunition needed. But in the same time, it can be extremely exhausting without teleport, and where the fish is the rest of the map?

 

 
Please tell me if any of you have the saint's patience level and actually finish this mission and where on earth should I go.

I just finished this mission. The sapper coat and blowtorch are in the little house south of Burma, the one very close to the stairs that go to the map with the trucks

I think I have overrode my saved game, and tbh, it would be too tedious to go back and navigate again, as I don't remember where to go etc, since most of JB missions have similar under tunnel I forget which and which, also I have finished the fun part. The ending should be easier. But I appreciate it!

 

I have since played other missions, Tianya's. I used to avoid this creators because most of his/her missions are time based. I like to play at my own time and would be very disappointed if the timing is too tight at the end (original C3 mission Stop Bomb Deployment, I had to repeat the mission over and over again, wasting a lot of time and fun in the process. I finished it, but with barely a minute to spare, that's why I avoid them now. Most original missions are much easier than mods, I'd be frustrated)

But then, I try again because I need to constantly play Commandos, and found three awesome missions.

 

- 390 (TY34) Crossing The Line

And awesome straightforward mission. Not too easy, not too complicated, require thinking and strategy. Music is nice too. Commandos are used well to their expertise. At the beginning, the ammunition is barely enough so I would make use of the tank to kill them but have to time them well and choose where they should be hit to avoid others raising alarm. I also use ambush points to get curious enemies. Leave the first officer (inside) alone after neutralize his guard, and station someone outside the door to kill him because he will run when you kill the other one. If he runs, mission fails. Alarm would make him run too. Get the diving gear and access the opposite map from some interior, not from the water. Eliminating snipers require a lot of planning because they will come checking/sound the alarm. Fins is very effective for this mission and Duke has to duel with enemy snipers. Use the gun to shoot at the tank and boat after clearing the map.

Enough resources, but no first aid. Only one knife.

- 378 (TY22) Eavesdropping

 

This is also a fun mission that mostly done on the rooftop. The key is the general/tyrant/Gestapo that paces around. Don't let them see you or hear you because they will snitch, tyrant/general will run, and mission will fail. Ambush some rooftop enemies outside their earshot (rooftop near starting point). Be prepared because they are a lot of them, share the ammunition between both commandos.

 

Once nearby rooftop is cleared and you make the crossing, access the rooftop with interior opening. Use driver. Obtain smoke bomb and when you reach ground level, find a right time to get out behind the pacing Gestapo, throw the smoke bomb at the general/tyrant, knock down the gestapo, bring him in, then go out again and position driver to ambush the tyrant/general once the smoke clear. Timing has to be right because it's enough. After shooting both, it's safe, no one can run anymore except you. Reinforcement would come out and they might shoot, so quickly find a safe spot and kill the Gestapo too.

 

I didn't let the reinforcement go inside and use sniper to bait and hunt them, thinking that I needed to access the interior they were in. Apparently, there is nothing there. Spy is useless but rescue him. Clue talks about Thief. No thief, and the clue is confusing. After finishing the objective just go down to the starting point. It took me a while to figure out. Clearer clues are needed.

- 359 (TY03) Resident Evil 2

 

Holy smoke! This becomes one of my favorite missions!

I hate zombie ones, and almost want to give this up when I saw it's about zombie, but gave it a try. It's unique, creative, and fun to play. Difficult, sometimes confusing, but it's really worth it.

Dog zombies behave like dogs, human zombies are slow, weird, but behave like dogs once it spots you. Guarantee dead, but there are ways to play around it. You can knock them down, but they can't be tied. If you use gun, it would wake them up and they'll attack. Dead. Use machine gun or rifle to be safer. Preserve the ammunition wisely. They are enough but don't overuse. Tie the human enemies instead.

 

I cleared the map with GB only because I didn't know how to free Natasha, until I found out she could punch (cool). At that time, GB has already suffered and triumph. Lupin is cute, it limits his ability to climb but it's very fitting to this mission. It took a while for me to navigate them until the commandos finally reunited.

 

Killing the zombies in the train is intense. Only GB, Smoke bomb, multiple tries. Have to somehow protect yourself to come close enough and blow up the barrel, had to machine gun a few before that, very risky.

 

I love the return of Enhanced Opera map/Lab setting (one of my favorite missions too). It was difficult to get out of the elevator at first and they can shoot you even when you hide. Luckily, there are plenty of guns to harvest from enemies. Didn't use a single sniper bullets although collected a lot. Lupin and GB did all the difficult stuffs.

 

The ending clue arrow is not clear enough. I waited at the arrow until the time was up because I didn't know what to do. Finally, after wasting a lot of time, apparently you should enter the last carriage with a lot of zombies I mentioned earlier. Make sure other objectives are done because it's a one way ticket. Activate the lever and cool animation will appear.

 

 

Had a lot of fun with these three missions. Well done! Very happy to play it.

I actually tried to play this, eventhough it has time limit, enjoyed it a lot, and managed to clear the map. The objective is to rescue Duke, Green Beret, and Sapper, but they have to be rescued SIMULTENOUSLY! How do I do that on my own? I tried to shuffle the order of rescue, but no, every time I rescue one, with a very little time limit, they will shoot the rest. I have clearance to rescue all on them, but can't be in three places at one go. 

Such a pity, I play alone.

Some mission take so long in the beginning. Not sure what is going on. Probably multiplayer choosing?

- 370 (TY14) Cold Fear

Utterly frustrating mission. Again, please don't be stingy with the clues, especially when the missions have confusing map. Arrow and direction, please! I have cleared a lot of enemies and arrived at the target area but there is nothing to activate. If I don't play for a few days, I forget how to go to one place. Arrows!

I have to give up this one, not sure what to do. Very limited ammunitions, a lot of zombies, confusing maps, not progressing because there is nothing to activate.

- 289 (NM04) Flames of War 4 (Pleskin Extrano1955)

This mission is crazy but fun. It started unsuspiciously and it was fun to navigate around at night, then I couldn't sneak around anymore and let the alarm sound because couldn't get rid of body in the rooftop. At first, it was manageable, then all hell break lose. These are the images to explain it.

There are floods of enemies! Fortunately there are many places to hide and time your attack to collect ammunition, and ambush them. It was very fun!

I forgot to take screenshots of this mission and don't remember how I did in other Flame of War series. I think it didn't end well, I got stuck or something. Played this a while ago before trying Tianya's missions (post #103, 104, 105, 106)

No clue how to proceed after clearing the first area. Frustrating. Clues should be in the game.

 

-100 (K3) The Biggest Battle (Waoula Extrano1955)

Can't move, can't do anything. Manage to get cigarette but everything is in the view of more than one enemies, can't bait anyone. Driver can't dig hole because he needs to stand up and be spotted. No other safe places, tried to go to the corner near the right wall, not safe, tried to go to wall under black-clothed general, eventhough not seen by enemies, alarmed still sounded, prisoner killed. Maybe there is a perfect timing to bait with cigarette, maybe, but too restrictive and too much waiting time.

Too difficult and not in a fun way because it's frustrating.

- 380 (TY24) Myanmar Past (Tianya)

Fun mission but at the end can't escape, always die by tank during escape. Got a bomb but no way to detonate it. Cleared everything else. Impossible task? Why make it that way at the end? Some secret way to solve it? Tried.

Again, frustrating.

-198 (L30) Sniper: A Weapon of Revenge (Lin Yu Tain)

Sniper dead seconds after mission begins. Not enough time to go to safety. Not funny trying many times, this is equivalent to make sapper dies multiple times because mine is too close to detect. Repetitive mundane tries with no extra fun but frustration. 

 

There are multiple mission like the last one, didn't write down mission names. Start, then commandos don't have enough time to hide/get winter clothes/escape. Maybe it's fun for creators, but after trying multiple time, I'd pass.

in EX8 you have to cross in top left, the cursor will look as door. there are 10 mines and bonus book, be careful. I recorded a guide too.

 

 

K3 thie mission is not that hard, using mouse can be helpful. there is a guide too.

I continued with the mission and managed to infiltrate all camps. I let GB clear most of the last camp by climbing over the cable to the far right with only 2 seconds to spare. The place was basically almost clear (except patrols, those on the roofs that are not accessible, and those under the lights that can't be shot (I think only 1-2 lights left). Even cleared some of the interior and the Gestapo near the entrance where the fence electricity panel was. Since he couldn't escape, GB only entered the building after he did all those.

 

 

With spy and driver, they managed to clear most of the rest (again, except patrol and those on inaccessible roofs) however I couldn't get into this area which I believe is where they gain control to open the house with the tiger

I watched the tutorial but after multiple tries, it seems impossible for one player. I couldn't even get one commando down before being spotted, let alone carry the body and hide behind the stair. Haven't found smoke bomb at this point but I think it would be very difficult as well to control more than one commandos in such a tight time. Will probably try again but at this point, it gets too stressful so I saved it and switched to other missions.

 

The missions are very well made though. It's a long mission, although it got tricky without clue sometimes (it would take forever for me to figure out you need to give envelope for one of the gate guard) and last gate before tank area refused to do anything if I didn't park the truck on the 'right' spot. I like that we can shoot the light off, the crazy red Gestapo but the bottle neck on where I stuck makes me wonder if this is playable as single player that doesn't have crazy skill which is quite a bummer because I have come this far.

The ending looks great and satisfying, all the while I thought tiger is animal.

 

GB's picture in one of these displays is funny and I laughed when I spotted that. Didn't realize it was a crazy queue for the toilet. I thought the generals are waiting to come out for patrol. Haha

Fun mission, very challenging start but after commandos managed to get into the island, it becomes very fun (alarm doesn't matter and there are plenty of hiding places). Not easy but good times!
 
- 304 (Y3) Salvation (Japan) Lin Yu Tain
 
 
A very fun and crazy mission too. I think I have played this before but enjoyed it all the same. Snipers and beginning are challenging but can work around them with some strategy. Awesome, not easy, not too difficult, a lot of fun.
 
- 305 (Y4) Enemy at The Front (Japan) Lin Yu Tain
 
 
This is great as well. A lot of hide and seek, that damn boat! But it was really fun
 
 
Not sure why I forgot to screenshot the missions' scenes, or maybe they are lost in my computer. But I remember having fun and losing sleep to finish the missions.

I love these Y series by Lin Yu Tain, I believe I skipped Y2 because I have played it and it was very fresh in my mind, and Y7 saved file was overrode when I went back to play EX8 after seeing the tutorial. My files are a big mess.

You are doing good job playing ex8. Dont surrender, you are about to sucess harder part. You can get the gas bomb in area D, the only house in all map with a toilet  :smile2ap: . Get down is not that hard, in the video the sapper down alone, they dont down until is clear.

Thank you! I have the game saved and will try again, hopefully soon but life gets in the way. I don't want to miss blasting everything with the tank, especially the ones on the rooftop that I couldn't get.  :smile2ap:

 

In the mean time I am playing 262 (EX9) Pegasus Bridge

It started slow at first, with many obstacle and currently I have managed to clear almost everything except two big patrols.

I am still exploring (not stuck yet). I still want to find out how to do it myself.

Other missions I have finished:

- 316 U7 Big Treasure (Kop)

This is a simple and fun mission. Not too hard, not too easy. The mission didn't end automatically but I have checked everything. 

 

 

 

 

- Another one is 325 U16 The Railway Station In France (Kop)

Another fun mission. This map is a bit weird because for some reasons, Commandos usually refuse to go to some spots unless you direct it for them step by step. Don't remember if the original is the same. It's a team up of GB and Duke, and Duke is the one who is able to use machine gun and rifle. It's challenging at first with limited ammunition and ability but easy enough to go around especially because it's a night setting. There is a surprise (Wilson!) and he is great to infiltrate difficult interior. I played this in one go burning midnight oil so I forgot to take other screenshots.

I remember I was able to, but other image hosting stop working in my region. This is the only one that can give me a link. I can embed images too, but the warning appears (above) and says I can't use that here. The posts would be much easier to go through and remember my missions with images.

You will be stuck in EX9, there is a little bug and I will upload the file in next update. I will need you to share your save game to fix it. At some point you will think all enemies are dead but cant use radio.

The save file is qs0000.sav ( quicksave in first profile ) in folder OUTPUT

Yes, I am stuck. I can't open the locked boxes or cabinets although I have found two keys.

I also not sure how to destroy the tank since no one can carry barrels or have bombs (bombs without sapper can use shooting tricks, but no bombs, unless they are in the box I can't open.)

I have neutralized all enemies except the two big patrols because they will call alarm, I can't do that fast enough with two commandos only in order not to make them call alarm. There are also locked room in hotels I can't open or draw the enemies out to kill them.

 

Found the save file, but how do I send it to you?

It's okay to wait for the next update too.

There are 2 allies with bazooka, use them vs tank. And you can kill missing enemies. It is normal to dont be able to open some doors and boxes, so there is enemies impossible to kill but dont count. To enter in the bunker you have to get the key and press shift in the yellow circle ( press F10 to see ). The radio is inside, but you probably cant use because you didnt kill all enemies.

Bug #1; Tied enemies don't count as neutralized.

Bug #2; There are enemies stuck out of map across right road.

You can send me the save to my mail and I kill enemies cheating, then send you the save. 

If you prefer you could get ride of bugs alone. Kill all tied enemies and go near to the right road, try to call and kill the hidden enemies.

Oh I see, I thought I can't control allied soldiers, because earlier in the game, I tried to use them (wanting to bait the big patrol into an interior to kill them without sounding alarm, but I couldn't control them, but now I can. Is it purposely made this way (there is a trigger to enable their control?)

Anyway, tank destroyed, everyone that I could see are destroyed except the ones having fun who don't want to come out from their room. Even the one in the toilet had been destroyed earlier, HOWEVER, in the early stage of the game, I didn't kill a lot of enemies, but I tied them and threw them to the sea or inside hiding place. So that doesn't count as neutralize?

 

I can use the radio, but nothing happens. There is a red dot on the right side of the map, but I can't draw the enemies out despite all the noise I make.

 

There is a room that requires welding device to open, is it important? I don't find anymore enemies, and I believe I have explored everywhere, but my bonus book is very incomplete. (is that why calling radio doesn't result in anything?) As said I can't open locked box or cabinet, not sure if there are inside.

The first time you try to use allies a commando must be near them. The tied soldiers you threw to water can not be killed now, so it is impossible to complet the objetive, as I said in next update I will fix this issue.

However I fixed the bug using hidden switch in hidden map to bypass this objective. I sent you the updated save game, you can use the radio and continue playing ;)
