487 (XT13). Get Into The Trap (Haibo52313 Lin Yu Tain)

 

This doesn't look at it on the first view, but it's crazy fun as it goes along especially when I triggered the ending. Unfortunately, I forgot to take the screenshot of the ongoing game. I had never seen that many tanks before!

Pro:

- Very fun, time limit is stressful, but sufficient enough with good planning and retries (not too many)

- New rocket bullets stock appears with milestone. I think it's great! Mission with exact number of ammunitions needed can be very annoying, as you are at the end and realize you have used a bullet/ammo and now there is one lacking and you can't end the mission and have to reply it. I'd suggest to always have some extra ammo, and this mission has it although it seems like you have exactly what is needed (and I used the canon to blow up at least 5 tanks when they appear). At the end I have more and can blast soldier to get the mission done in time.

- Perfect combination of an unlikely duo, GB and Sapper.

- Mission is not easy but not impossible.

- Safe hiding place/spot. Essential to start the game. Those without is too stressful most times.

- Awesome fun at the end.

- Time limit is hard but not impossible. I only did a few retries and that was because I tried to collect the bonus, which brings me to the con.

 

CON:

- Bonus means nothing. After reload several times to collect them all, it doesn't lead to anything.

488 (XT14). A Small Hand (Haibo52313 Lin Yu Tain)
 
This one is also very fun. Sapper is the only commando, there are snipers and invasions, but he has six tents to hide and he is playing hide and seek with them, salvaging weapon from dead enemies strategically, and runs straight to the sniper because I didn't find another way around and succeeded! 
I played this mission before, I was more careful. This time I was having a blast and finished it with minimum time.
Very replayable. Love the freedom, safe spots, and simplicity.
 
 
490 (XT16). Behind Enemy Line I (Haibo52313 Lin Yu Tain)
 
This one is okay. Start with Sapper, and joined by Driver later. Not too easy not too difficult. A lot of freedom to play.
The invasion is crazy, with many enemies but I don't need to do much because the tank kills most of them. I only need to wait to take out the enemies once the number dwindles (because it's impossible to take them when they are still too many. The weapon reload takes too much time, every swarms and there are only two commandos). So there is no action for the waiting part. It's fun to see the tank kill the enemies though (and the grenadiers were so angry they tried to bomb their own tank)  :smilehuh:

I tried 490 half way and quit, mostly because I remember I had played it before. This one is not that fun, repetitive and the map is very big without details.

 

491 (XT17) Behind Enemy Line II (Haibo52313 Lin Yu Tain)

This one is awesome. Need a lot of strategy and trial error, with sniper at the top right difficult to get because of the edge (some glitch), so I had to try getting him from a different position. 

Duke is the only commando, he need to play hide and seek and obtain bullets to take out five snipers that make his movement very limited (but not impossible).

The lack of resources is another challenge. Harvesting bullets from dead enemies is difficult, since it's hard to get, very limited, difficult to take down more than one enemy at one time, and have to continue running/hiding from the sniper.

It's extremely satisfying to take down the sniper and finish the mission. I love the freedom and ability to explore different strategy.

410. TY07 Sneak Attack Pearl Harbor (Tianya)

 

I remember liking Tianya's mission, the one without time limit, but those with time limit is too stressful and too impossible. There are too many things to do and will require me to try and try again by repeating the whole mission to get into the time, which becomes not fun. I only did it for the original Stop Bomb Deployment and succeeded, but the rush sucked most of the fun and it limits the way I can play it because of the time.

 

However, I decided to try again, and chose this mission. End result: I love but hate this mission.

Love: This is an awesome mission. It requires strategy and commando's collaboration. It gives me freedom to play. Lupin has to sneak around and supply ammunition for Duke, while he takes out those that is in his range since he can't cross the bridge without Lupin getting into the snipers that guard it (many!). Lupin plays hide and seek, and his expertise is really important here, fast and able to get in and out windows. This is awesome play! and very fun! But the cons ruin it.

 

Hate: Impossible timing. I probably needs at least 10 tries after knowing each step to take and will be pushing my luck to success. It wouldn't be fun anymore, especially because I can't find the second bomb to blow up the second tank. I had tried to position it in between, but by manual trigger it didn't work. If blowing up two tanks with only one bomb is the requirement here, I hate this because needing to be very precise, again, would suck out all the fun in trying. Again, limitation with only one way to get the mission going is not favorable.

Another 10 minutes/no time limit and the second bomb will make this mission awesome.

 

Screenshot: the time stops, and I continued to play. I got my bomb as the time stopped, and had cleared the square, bridge, and all snipers except the one in the two storey house (that apparently don't house anything important).

Can't finish as I couldn't blow up the second tank.

298 EX10 Wild Nature (Extrano1955)

 

At first, the prisoners kept getting killed after I failed to hide bodies/tied enemies at the upper right corner.

The map is awesome! It's gorgeous, and everything is functional. Some beautiful maps don't work well, weird corner, not corresponding visual with space, but this one is exceptional. It looks like Savo Island on steroid and I love the details of the dock, villagers, beaches, plants, jungles.

 

I explore the part of the map that is less guided and identify the right upper corner where an officer is taking a shower with uniform next to it. So Fin goes underwater (after moving the boat) because the enemy boat spots it, takes the officer, and starts clearing the area where Natasha's uniform is located. It needs fast movement and clearing all trace of bodies, with a helpful hiding spot behind a palm tree near water. The weird trigger keeps appear, and I reloaded many time, but hiding all trace of body is the key. It takes time but once I get the uniform, Natasha could help.

 

The challenge is to pass her the uniform which can't be done from the boat. So Fins and Natasha have to swim, with waiting and study the timing to avoid enemy boat and two officers with the binoculars after I identify a safe spot where they can be on the shore together (next to the four sailors that is doing sit-ups). After Natasha gets her uniform, I let her explore the island and clear interior that she can clear alone, before meeting Fins on the Fin's starting spot. I tried to get GB to swim to the shore so that Fins could take his knife, but it's too difficult to get back to the boat so Fins has to use one knife only. But together, he and Natasha can take down a group of three independent enemies so they start to clear the map until the lower right is available for GB and Lupin to join.

 

With four of them taking out patrol, it's easier to continue clearing the map.

There are many huts to hide the bodies (important) because any suspicious sight would trigger a killing of prisoners.

For the sniper in the house, Natasha has to kill the sniper first and the rifle officer next to the sniper, because they can't be baited and it's impossible to clear the enemies in their eyesight.

 

So, with one bottle of wine obtained from the pilot near the starting point, Natasha gets into the house, whacked and tied the sniper. Get the sniper rifle and used the two bullets to kill the sniper and rifle officer that station at the window. Using this, the patrol inside the house don't suspect Natasha. I have fun using the house as body dumping ground as well when Natasha is distracting them.

 

However, I am stuck now. Can't find a way to cross the broken bridge. Swimming, diving, exploring the land and sea and can't find a way to get into the new map.

 

@Extrano1955, can you advice? Awesome and fun mission, btw!

I have some advices

 

-You can share knife and uniform in boat. Right click in face of the commando to open interfaze and press in the lens to share with other commando. Dropping items underwater also works.

-You should find 4 sniper bullets before continue next map. There is a hidden sniper ( F11 dont work )

-Green Beret and Thief can jump the broken bridge, press shift to do it.

-You may be stuck later, ask me for help if you need it

Natasha can't reach the sniper in the house (facing the bridge). Let me tried with the thief and GB, hopefully I can progress with the mission. Thanks!

She can kill the snipers in house. Find the correct place to shoot.

I had found and killed the hidden sniper.

 

I didn't know we can do it in the boat! It would be a precious knowledge for other time.

 

Natasha can't reach the sniper in the house (facing the bridge). Let me tried with the thief and GB, hopefully I can progress with the mission. Thanks!

I haven't had many chance to play yet, but I had found a spot where Natasha can kill the sniper in the house. However:

Second sniper appears. It doesn't matter because I can kill him, too. However, there is a trigger that make a prisoner killed even though noone saw her killed the first sniper.

Tried multiple ways including killing the enemies around the river and the trigger still happened.

 

Questions:

- Does the mission fail when a prisoner is killed? It doesn't seem to be a way to prevent this on the second stage.

- Do I need all four sniper bullets available on the first stage in second stage? Because that means I already failed.

There is a third enemy in house, he will see dead snipers and trigget the event. You have to kill 2 sniper and him, 3 bullets need. If you have less than 3 bullets the only option is dont kill snipers and try to cross bridge. It is very hard not impossible.

Hi,
I have question regarding mission :

 

XT23 Forest Snowfield

 

Goal is to free prisoners, kill general and 2 artillery (optional).

The mission seems tough but interesting. However, I don’t understand the behavior of some soldiers. I’m supposed to free the prisoners first and then kill the general (order matters), but I don’t know who has the key.
I’ve reached a point where killing another soldier (completely silently) causes either another soldier to run (I think) to kill the prisoners or the general to call in additional reinforcements.
At the same time, a failure screen appears that normally shows up when you lose (though in this case, there’s no message on the screen e.x. prisoners were killed etc.).

Could someone help me? The mission itself feels really enjoyable, but these weird behaviors are frustrating.
 
UPDATE :
So I've managed to clear the whole map and nobody has the key to rescue allies. I've got a timer bomb, but neither green beret or sniper can't use it, so I don't know how to destroy the tank. Either I missed something or this mission is broken.
