Here is a big project :
I intend to make a rule book for Dawn of War.
What is the point ?
The point is to make the gameplay and, the units attribs and behaviors as much realistic according to the fluff possible !
Because how can a normal human survive to a bolt comming right out a holy bolter ?
There is no way.
With those rules a few marines could defeat hundreds of xenos (depending of the xenos), and you'll need a hundred men to do the same job.
One bolt = One man dying
One missile = a few of anything dying
Just take a look at the book, the work is in progress and will need a lot of reviews, so any one is welcome.
There are two big parts in it :
In the first part the goal is to make everything the most realistic possible, without thinking about any balancing at all
In the second part we will think about balancing with "time costs" and "loadouts" and every tool the game allows us to use as a balance tool.
Because if you can pop out 100 realistic marines and land raiders each minute you will be invincible and an ork player would need billions of boys to defeat you.
here is a link to the book as it is now (it is preferable to open it with "libreoffice", because "word" and the google drive browser do a mess with it, you still can read it with word or on google but.. i tried to make it beautiful... and word doesn't respect me. So for your confort dowload the book and read it with ''libreoffice" (freeware)) :
