Hi, I have a few questions regarding campaign modding. What interests me is how much can you edit the campaigns. I'd like to know how to add some cinematics or pictures, but I'm not sure how is it implemented in the game. For example, when you finish one mission there shows a picture and few buttons, like next mission or save game. I want to know how to change thoses pictures and some cinematic interludes. I also wonder if I can add mission choice on the map like in BFME 1 or the thing that one mission unlocks the next one but if you choose other mission you'll unlock other missions (for example a good and evil path for the character). So basically I'm thinking about more RPG approach to BFME campaigns and I'd like to know if any of my ideas are even possible (maybe none of them are because of the engine limitations; I'm unsure of that so I'm asking some more experienced modders out there ;) ). Thanks in advance and cheers :)

try looking at linearcampaign.ini or linearcampaignexpansion1.ini for the campaign, there are comments in there that explain what stuff do.

as far as I know it is impossible to do a bfme1 style campaign, but you can try doing similar stuff with living world scenarios, but it'll never give the results that you are looking for.

Thanks for your response, I thought most of my ideas were impossible, but wanted to make sure. I guess I'll stick to linear campaign. I've been thinking of a campaign mod since there aren't many mods changing the campaign. But first of all I have to practice some map scripting :)

I have but one more question concerning mission maps. In BFME 1 some of them are basically skirmish maps, with little to no scripting. They are defined as regions in LivingWorld Campaign files (like gondorcampaign.ini and mordorcampaign.ini). You can find settings as to which player starts where, factions allegiance and similar stuff. Now is there a way to do something similar in BFME 2? If not in the LivingWorld Campaign, then maybe you can somehow do something like that in linear BFME 2 campaign?

I'm specifically talking about Skirmish map opponent data, which is in BFME 1 campaign files and specifies player's starting positions, allegiances etc. I haven't seen this in BFME 2 linearcampaign.ini file, since there are only scripted singleplayer maps, so I don't know if this can even be added.

I found something similar in WOTR files though, which seem to be based on BFME1 campaign files. So, maybe there is actually a way to bring the LivingWorld Campaign back? Or at least add some skirmish - like maps to linear campaign for a little more variety? Again thanks in advance, I hope someone has deeper knowledge on this matter :)
