* change: several of the established naval units have been renamed, new names being as follows:
Horizon Destroyer, Enterprise Aircraft Carrier, Trident Battleship, Seawolf Gunboat,
         Kuznetsov Dreadnought, Nautilus Magnetic Sub, Resheph Ballistic Sub and Leviathan Helicarrier;
this change was made to give each ship type a class name, in case more variations of it are introduced in the future

Considering this, it is implied that the update after 3.3.5 may be focused on navy additions in terms of gameplay stuff, so here are some predictions on where the current class-named naval units will be on a specific subfaction, assuming every subfaction will have a variant of their own, like how all 12 subfactions have their own main battle tank (e.g. Rhino, Jaguar, Qilin for Soviets).

Allies:

  • Horizon Destroyer - likely would belong to European Alliance since its class name is based from a real-life frigate that is affiliated with Italy and France (which are both European countries)
  • Aegis Cruiser - likely would belong to European Alliance, considering it is more of a defensive unit because it is slow but durable, which matches its subfaction's strategy.
  • Enterprise Aircraft Carrier - likely would belong to United States since its class name is based from a real-life Aircraft Carrier also from the US.
  • Trident Battleship - definitely would belong to European Alliance due to its lore and voiceset.

Soviets:

  • Typhoon Attack Sub - likely would belong to Russia due to use of tesla technology (3.3.5 will give Typhoon tesla torpedoes as an alternative weapon).
  • Seawolf Gunboat - likely would belong to Russia since it matches its subfaction's mobile units strategy.
  • Kuznetsov Dreadnought - likely would belong to Latin Confederation only since it matches its subfaction's info of using outdated weaponry. Revised lore may be that the Russians sold the original Dreadnought to LC to make way for Akula Sub. China, on the other hand, is known to develop their own tech so it's possible that they'll have their own unique siege ship.

Epsilon:

  • Piranha Minisub - likely would belong to Scorpion Cell since it matches its subfaction's spam-heavy strategy.
  • Nautilus Magnetic Sub - likely would belong to PsiCorps due to use of magnetic technology.
  • Resheph Ballistic Sub - likely would belong to PsiCorps since its weaponry is psychic.

Foehn:

  • Leviathan Helicarrier - likely would belong to Last Bastion, considering how it is quite durable but slow, and how it is able to use the Nanocharge support power.

I do like the idea of faction specific "Main Battle Ship", similar to the tanks. With some other extra variety ships thrown in for good measure and faction variety.

Aegis cruiser should be American tho, it’s based on the real-life Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense System or the Aegis Combat System developed by the US, which are housed on Ticonderoga Class cruisers and Arleigh Burke Class destroyers.

Horizon on the other hand also functions like an American warship with the (American) Osprey on its back for anti submarine warfare.
IMO the Allied navy is always mainly American with the exception of the Trident battleship, probably lore wise the US provided other allied sub factions with their warships after the 2nd Great War and thus everyone has the same ship.

Hmm...faction specific vessels.I like the sound of that.

Though I think each faction should get proper support vessels, which are not purely offensive.

Like this-the Allies can have a vessel with a Cryobeam(something like a heavy corvette-I call it the Tigris-class corvette)

The Soviets could go for a vessel with some form of EMP weapon on board.

The Epsilon could have a vessel with mind control or confusion capability.

The Foehn....I am coming up short for them.

I'd like to see the Gunboat from RA1 make a return as a destroyer-substitute for one of the Allied factions, with either depth charges or an anti-submarine mortar.

Not sure about that.

Though I feel the Leviathan needs a redesignation. The "Helicarrier" designation feels.... confusing.

Epsilon having confusion is not a thing though. That's Foehn stuff. Speaking of whom, they already have support naval, which is of course, the Angelshark.

Ok,but seriously, make the Leviathan LB-exclusive.And make a flying variant of it for Coronia(an actual Helicarrier).Haihead should get some kind of battlecruiser.

Leviathan is.... I don't even use companion vessels. Only 4-5 buzzards against mostly dragonflies, seals and ivans or force-firing to reveal submerged units to kill with the ships themselves.

It is devastating to any form of enemy, the blasts follow the enemy just like Irkalla's blobs, the drones itself are healthier than any other projectiles from another big ships, and deal considerable amount/size of splash.

They gain extra speed boost by windblades. By default they are slow yes, but who cares? They are late units, not rush tactic units, and their main purpose to level enemy bases, and buildings usually don't move. So that's not a negative for me.

They got a ton of HP, and have nanobots to auto-repair themselves + nanocharge.

Their only real enemy is...another Leviathan (thanks Yuri....)

I think their naval variety is severely lacking, even more so than the other factions.

What kind of siege ship do you think would fit the Haihead doctrine?

I did suggest a Battlecruiser for Haihead, but now come to think of it,it could be armed with a long range Proton Collider.

Of course,it could be fitted with more Windspin engines for higher speed.I would call it the Plesiosaur.

I hope that isn't an excuse to give them more toys.

Besides the naval side of all factions barely get much love save for a few missions. But at least the Soviets have a *suicide* boat now.

I actually fail to see them 'severely lacking' in variety, because their naval can still cover all threats they encounter

It's not about if they cover all the threats, but just that I think there should be a lot more emphasis on naval stuff, not just a few units and that's it.
