Hi, I'm trying to get multiplayer working on my steam copy of Red Alert 3.

The game runs fine if I launch it through steam, but the launcher is unable to hook into the game. Launching RA3 through the launcher results in the steam drm throwing "Application Load Error 5:0000065434"

I'm using Steam on Ubuntu.

+1 for this, I'm on Majaro and am getting the same result.

The log says this:

----- C&C:Online Launcher Start -----
Game: Red Alert 3
Red Alert 3 Install Path: Z:\home\ariel\.local\share\Steam\steamapps\common\Command and Conquer Red Alert 3\
Started game with: "RA3.exe "
Caught CREATE_PROCESS_DEBUG_EVENT from Red Alert 3. Detaching...
ERROR: game.dat process not found.

Any help would be appreciated.

I got it working on Linux by installing Origin on Lutris and then changing the wine version to the regular wine version installed on my system (wine 6.2).

I tested different Proton and Lutris wine versions but none of them worked, so it seems like C&C:Online only works with regular wine.

So maybe try running Steam under regular wine. At least with Origin it works really well and I could even play with windows users without issues (Red Alert 3 only).

Edit: Unfortunately I often get an out of sync error while playing with other people so it usually doesn't work anyway
