Commandos 2-style weapon ranges for C3 and more effective medkit as well as massively increasing the range of heavy machine guns. (The ones in Motorbikes that the Green Beret can use, that are kinda worthless since they have the range of the pistol.)
Adding the Garrote back to the Thief's inventory in "Get to the Engine" like in the demo version of the game.
A Destination Paris-style mod for C3, adding Guard dogs to more levels, a few extra levels that are new/remixed versions of existing levels that allow us to use Commandos like the Diver more by adding them to new/old levels.
While probably never going to happen, I would be curious to see an attempt at remaking Strike Force, but in the style of the classic games on either C2 or C3.
Commandos 2: all missions from BEL, BCD and C3 as close as possible to the original missions (no additional enemies, no surprise attacks etc.)
Commandos 2: a selection of the most interesting maps from Destination Paris with the difficulty of the original C2. For all the players who finished C2 but can't handle the hardcore difficulty of DP.
Good ideas, i agree. Also, imho, c1 & c3 missions in c2 should preserve original c2 gameplay as possible, not copy c1/c3 gameplay (except some key features). And i don't know, why in DP in C1 maps textures was changed, but it looks not like original c1 landscapes, imho all graphics should be original.
As main manager of BEL/BCD I am not going to set the missions 100% same as the original game. In my first tries I did it and my friends didn´t like it, If I create 100% same mission as c1 it will be just a bad quality copy.
Comm2 improved the multiplayer experience making all commandos able to hit/tie and use guns, also the enemies in c2 are weaker, ( not leave position enemeis don´t make alarm ). Weaker enemies + stronger commandos made me create extra enemies, only for make ir little more challange, keep only original enemies would be a joke for the average difficult in destination paris, in fact the currently BEL difficult is easy comparing to other mods.
About C3 I didn´t change much, only little improves like anims, videos and bug fixing. The main change is destroy the warship, now fins get in the ships and have some funny extra action and Im pround of it, I also made 2 versions of some mission ( only working in comm2.exe ) to play with only 1 commando in single player and more in multiplayer.
Would be good to have a list of all missions ranked by difficult, action or stealth or only able to tie, number of commandos and quality.
My own wishlist:
-All commandos 3 faces + HD remaster for driver and natacha
-Moving train in Comm3 get to the engine
-Add comm3 weather effects
-New things like shotgun, magnum .44, allied sherman tank, russian tanks, new german tanks, zombies...
-My too sophisticated/impossible to create future new missions (for example flying transparent zeppelin; can see inside roms and clouds moving outside)
-Better new missions; I wish to play new missions from different editors as good or even better than my own missions. There are too many only hit and tie missions, without any briefing or surprise, and 1 commando missions ( impossible to play multiplayer )
-0 bugs and synchronized version of destination paris china/us. That is my own job, working every new update.
I said Im not going to edit BEL in c2 as BEL. But I would love to create new comm1 missions in c2 with C1 style. Only Green Beret and thief able to punch/tie, infinite pistols without auto-shoot, sapper with trap... I have seen so many mods like this:
But I don´t have permission. The owner don´t let me import to C2. If anyone create new C1 maps I could convert happìly. Is like 2-4 weeks job for me.
It'd be cool to see some Strike Force mods potentially, though I have no idea if the game is actually moddable in any sense.
Stuff like adding the Molotovs/M1 Garand to more levels, adding the Green Beret's Knife to the Spy/Sniper, having German Forces actually use the STG44 and having the Portable MG42 actually be available on Higher difficulties. (Since on Commando difficulty all of it's spawn points are disabled.)
