Me and my Dad, after much hair-pulling, managed to play C&C3 around summer this year, both of us had Windows 10 computers.

 

Jump forward to now, when we've both had time to go online again, and we cannot get any of the games to work. We've tried ZH and C&C3 – the only difference, he's upgraded to Win 11, and I've moved house and got a new rig with Win 11 installed.

 

So we've both got the ultimate collection on Origin, and carefully followed the instructions to patch and load games. We're able to log in into and see the servers of both games, send chat messages, create/join games, but when launching we always get connection errors. (ZH – "Unable to connect to other player(s)")

 

We're both tried removing firewall and adding exceptions to it, only using windows antivirus, running in admin and compat modes. Just doesn't seem to be a clear reason it isn't working – other than it being a Windows 11 issue.

 

Does anyone have any experience with this issue?

So I just gonna assume that none of you is running a vpn or smth so I skip that question

You guys can now choose if you want to use a vpn or try portforwarding I can assist with both and if you have questions let me know

Do you think port forwarding is the answer here?

 

For some extra context, we tried C&C4 recently, which has company servers still running, and yet we also couldn't get anywhere with that game either. If anything, it was worse.

 

The idea that it's Windows 11 causing issues is only becoming more prominent, hence why I asked if anyone had any resolved issues with Win11 and any of the C&C games
