I was just wondering if anyone knows if it is at all possible to purchase ammo. For example you purchase a plane at the airfield and it comes into play with no missiles and then via a button on the plane you can purchase missiles for it. Can it be done?

*Edit* Related to this, it is possible to be able to purchase 2 different types of missile so that it clip contains for example 1 Type 1 Missile and 3 Type 2 Missiles?

Ok, slight update on what i've been doing.

Because i want it to choose from 9 Weapons, i cant use the Ranger Logic of changing weapons. However, in order to give it 9 new weapons im using the ReplaceObject Logic but this causes units to lose veterancy. Is there any other way to give a unit a weapon but for there to be multiple choices (ie like WeaponSet Upgrade but have a choice of Upgrades, can you add TriggeredBy in the upgraded Weaponset?)

Still cant get the purchasing of ammo to work so any ideas would be most welcome.

I'm not exactly sure on this, but I don't believe it is possible, unless you want to give it a choice of weapons initially, then leave it set that way. Then, you wouldn't have to worry about the veterancy or anything, and could use replace object freely.

Well, when it comes to writing an expository essay about counter-insurgent tactics, I'm of the old school. First you tell them how you're going to kill them. Then you kill them. Then you tell them how you just killed them.

Thats what im currently using, I spawn a soldier with no weapons with 9 upgrade icons to give it a weapon. Ideally i'd like to give the soldier a knife, which he could use to stab people and gain experience, prehaps this would have to be ignored. However this still limits each soldier to just one weapon and in reality a soldier may for example have 2 or 3. Also, this still doesnt fix the problem of "buying a clip", you buy a weapon with an infinite amount of ammo, something that i dont really want to do.

wow... this sounds like a great project kind of like Battle Realms where you had to send villagers into structures to be trained into Military units depending on the structure you sent him to.

The problem with the replacing after 1 clip is that I see people getting angry having to purchase ammo mid battle. I've been thinking, i know there are two AutoRealoadClip Possibilities, RETURN_TO_BASE and Yes. Is it possible to give a weapon "5 Clips" and then after its used 5 clips it would need to return to base and refill those 5 clips. For example, a soldier carries a rifle which has 100 bullets per clip, and a reload time of 1000msec. Can i give the rifle weapon 5 clips so essentially 500 bullets?

I don't see anywhere that you can limit the number of clips. You could theoretically limit the number of clips by just giving 500 shots, and needing to reload between. Also, if you give a unit the FS_Factory KindOf, it can reload units in the field.

It's what all production structures use. It's what allows the airfield to reload units.

Could I give this FS_Factory to for example a truck and then if the infantry got in it would refill its ammo? Can it be given to infantry and then if the infantry is within a certain radius it can refill them? Or does it have to be the facility that produces it?

I believe so, yes. I don't know of any limits on what types of units can have the FS_factory type.
