I have created a C&C Online account and setup the username, email and password for the server etc.

When I boot Red Alert 3 through the C&C Online launcher and log-in using the Server Email and Server Password I setup earlier I get the error in the title.

"Cannot Connect to Backend Server"

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Essentially I have followed the steps here: https://cnc-online.net/en/setup/.

----- C&C:Online Launcher Start -----
Game: Red Alert 3
Red Alert 3 Install Path: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Command and Conquer Red Alert 3\
Started game with: "RA3.exe "
Caught CREATE_PROCESS_DEBUG_EVENT from Red Alert 3. Detaching...
ERROR: game.dat process not found

This is what my Log File in %Temp% says.

I have tried running the game and C&COnline Launcher as admin and still have the same issue?

Hello ! Same problem here, i follow every steps but i can't connect to the backend server and this issue is not in the "Common Issues & Solutions" topic.

EDIT: Someone in the forums tried this and it works but not for me sadly

Steps: Go into the Windows Command propt (Windows+R)
Type: %appdata%
Click "Red Alert 3"
Click "Profiles"
Click: Your name user. ie. "Zayda41"

Click: Options

Delete the line: "FirewallPortOverride=0"

Exact same problem. Friend has same problem as well. Have tried suggested edits to Options.

Game on Steam, I'm running Windows 10, they're running Linux.

I see there's people actively playing the game. It would be nice to know what their specs are, how they made it work, so we know what to change on our ends to try out.

My friend and i got the exact same issues. We bought the ultimate collection on steam which got newly released and tried the above solution which also didnt help.

My Specs are:

Win11

Steam, German Game Version, 1.12

Fresh install of CNC Online to this date.

Edit: Here the log file:

----- C&C:Online Launcher Start -----
Game: Red Alert 3
Red Alert 3 Install Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Command and Conquer Red Alert 3\
Started game with: "RA3.exe "
Caught CREATE_PROCESS_DEBUG_EVENT from Red Alert 3. Detaching...
ERROR: game.dat process not found.

Edit Part 2:

Ok i fixed it for me atleast and seems like for my friend too. There was a forum post about this.

You need to start cnconline launcher, hooking, check RA3.

Go to Steam -> Properties -> Startoptions and insert -ui
then close cnconlinelauncher and start the game through steam which should then open the cnclauncher
start through this one RA3 which opens another RA3 Ui and start the game there and then you should be able to log in.
