Just thought to create a thread regarding post-2022-era where people starting to buy SteamDecks or migrating to a Linux gaming environment.

The first challenge was to get C&C:Online working under Linux - thanks to Cervanthes Enabler app/exe. (The tutorials/fix works for both Steam & EA app's Ultimate Collection)

Second challenge is the multiplayer desync afte 4-5 minutes of online play. Thanks to KWAGGA & Tribalwarfare(Frogging-Family) for their proton regression testing:

KWAGGA's desync fix: https://www.protondb...sers/1619580956

Tribalwarfare article: https://github.com/F...-git/issues/859

However this desync fix replies strictly on using Proton 7 and works fine for Steam version.

Problem is, the new EA App refuses to run/install on anything older than Proton 8! And we know how notoriously bad EA is when it comes to EA support.

Found some articles about how EA App was broken in SteamDeck/Proton when EA migrated from Origin Launcher.

Fixing EA Play Blank Screen for EA Games on Steam: https://steamdeckhq....games-on-steam/

EA APP games not working: https://github.com/V...ton/issues/6766

Interesting, need to install components: d3dcompiler_47, liberation font, enable ip6

Things to try, other proton-variants:

Proton-Up: https://github.com/D...Tek/ProtonUp-Qt

I will update this thread as I find a way to get the EA app Ultimate Collection desync fix working.
