Can't Connect RA3 C&C Online Servers on Home Network

Best Answer jured100, 09 April 2025 - 06:39 PM

I would suggest using the new Tacitus launcher found here https://cnc-online.net/en/download/

Which is likely to fix your problem. If it doesnt, just start a new thread or ask in the discord!

Cheers!

Hi! I'm having issues when connecting to online server. I have Red Alert 3 Steam version. When i try to connect, it gives "Failed to connect to servers. Pelase check to make sure you have an active connection to the Internet." error. My operating system is Windows 10. I tried using connecting with VPN, disabling Windows Firewall, enabling "send delay" option in game settings. There is no port forwarding and DMZ on my router. NatNegTest give me this output:

===========
  SUCCESS
===========
Received 3 pings from nntest.cnc-online.net:40000.
NAT negotiation works with your router and connection.
==> You do not have to use port forwarding.
Press any key to continue . . .

My CNCOnline_Log.txt file shows this:

----- C&C:Online Launcher Start -----
Game: Red Alert 3
Red Alert 3 Install Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Command and Conquer Red Alert 3\
Started game with: "RA3.exe -win"
Caught CREATE_PROCESS_DEBUG_EVENT from Red Alert 3. Detaching...
Found game.dat process. PID 8896
** Starting CA public key patching routine **
CA public key is expected value.
Successfully patched CA public key.
** Starting hostname hooking routine **
Injecting DLL into game.dat process...
Result of injection: Code -1073741582

The connection issue resolves when i connect to a different WIFI like like my mobile internet or a coffee shop internet. The issue happens only on my home internet.

I would appreciate any help.

It is possible that your home internet connection's ISP is blocking some connections to the C&C Online servers (as it resolves itself when you use a different internet connection). The only solution would be to update to Tacitus as `jured100` has guided, and use a VPN that is known to work well with the service.
