Run all the updates and reinstalled Gentools (8.9), now game only offers lower resolutions for play.

Any idea on if there is going to be some new gaming patch?

Is the source code available for Gentools? If not then all we can do is hope for a patch from the original author.

 

In the meantime, set the resolution as high as you can. It will be 4:3 aspect ratio, sure, but when in windowed mode it should still be playable.

 

Add "-win" to the command line for windowed mode.

 

Edit: I suppose you could always downgrade. I hear 1.04 is compatible. Just got to fight Steam after that, as it will be hell-bent on updating that game for you if you turn your back for even second.

Generals:

Copy Generals.exe and Game.dat from the downloaded manifests into your game directories and Gentools is back to working as it should.

Please download and install GenPatcher and GenTool will be functional again.

The last version of GenTool is not compatible with the latest version of the game from Steam/EA App, thus downgrading to the previous version is needed for GenTool to function again. GenPatcher is the simplest way of doing this.
