how do you play online with this new update?

Best Answer mrtnptrs, 07 April 2025 - 04:02 AM

C&C:Online was undergoing maintenance after the game's 27th of February patch. This was done to make the switch from the old C&C:Online launcher to the brand new Tacitus possible, which is no longer a launcher and just boots up with the game itself. It will not have this issue. See the setup guide on how to install Tacitus.

I had the same problem, and after finding a hint on the internet somewhere the following helped:
- remove the file CNC3EP1_YourLanguage_1.3.SkuDef
- reinstall C&C Online (I wasnt able to download and install tacitus at the moment, but had to install it from an older download I still had)

Also, please do not remove any game files. If you have, either verify your installation through Steam or EA, or do a clean re-install. If for any reason, you needed to launch an older version, either use the `-runver` launch parameter, or use the new Tacitus client's Chronoshift feature.
