Ra3 - Win11 - Game installed by OG Disc.

 

My game used to work smoothly. After i updated to Tacitus i get this error message. (0xc0000142)

And the game refuses to run. I tried running as admin. And some quick tutorials for this error. But nothing works. 

I even tried to install C&C launcher again But with the same results. 

Also i can´t figure out if Tacitus have installed or not? There is no program? 

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Tried to reinstall the game. The game is working no problem. As soon as i install Tacitus. It bricks the game. Not launching anymore.

No Tacitus broke the game again. The installer told me to Re-install. So i already had it. 

It´s the same error.

This is rather odd. As the lack of that runtime is the reason for that error. The devs already know about this particular error, and a fix might be in the works, but i can't make a promise as i don't have access to the development details. Keep an eye out for the updates to Tacitus and check every now and then.

 

By the way, this is a long shot, but you can do an installation from one of the all-in-one installers of the Visual C++ Redistributables. A quick google search will bring up multiple repacks (like this one).

I tried the pack you mentioned. Unfortunately it is still the same result. 

If its any help my Computer is born win11 and is very new.

Are there further fixes besides the 2 runtime downloads? Same problem still persists!

 

IF not: How can I deinstall the tacitus?

(not keen on deinstalling and reinstalling the whole game every time!)

Delete the one file dsound.dll in your game directory.
This is the only file that gets installed by the Tacitus installer.
 

Command and Conquer Red Alert 3\Data\dsound.dll

it was better when the revora was separate from the game and not in the game

I also didn't manage to get RA3 running with Tacitus, based on the above tips.

Hopefully someone is working on it.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109 By default it gets installed as soon you install the game but maybe something whent wrong during installation.

Another option to fix corrupted apps/files is to open
1. Powershell as administrator
2. paste in 

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

3. When finished paste the next line 

sfc /scannow

4. Reboot system

What this does

• Corrupt app files >   reinstall/verify game files.

• Missing VC++/.NET/DirectX >   install/repair those runtimes.

• Third-party injectors/overlays >   disable/remove.

• Bad GPU/AV drivers >   update/roll back.
